What most don't know is Roosevelt actually prolonged and deepened the depression with excessive government spending. It was WWII and our strong manufacturing based created as a result that eventually got us out of the depression.

He took us off the gold standard and set up the Federal Reserve (Debate on if this was a good thing) and he did start the CAC and other work programs. Boy Bush spent us into debt when we were NOT in a recession.

6 years ago when I was stationed in Europe I was able to buy a ton of great stuff, but now the Euro currency is worth almost twice as much as the dollar and is still rising. The depression is coming and only the wealthy will survive. We are in a huge debt to China which is causing the dollar to plumet. It would be like having a huge debt to a credit card company and you cannot afford to keep up the payments, what would likely happen? You would file for bankruptcy of course.

unfortunatly I saw this coming. Sad really. there are people like me, who got schooling but, no jobs. Next thing you know, credit card debt plus school loans and so on and so forth. i'm still pissed off at the W.G.A. writers for going on strike, which affected me very badly and a lot of other people that aren't even writers. They sure got great timing to go on strike (sarcasm)

$600 check from the government is a JOKE to me. 600 dollars isn't even going to help people like me.
