It is just the noise of the motors and of the gears. The cameras sitting on the platform, so it probably picks up the gear noise a lot more.

Computer controlled laser pointers are also used by our Asimov1
(pointing, 3d laser scans & to assist with eye tracking. It also is used to help us see exactly where its eye is looking)
