  • my guitar hero III is pirated lol

  • my red wii doesnt make this sound unless i put in The Sims 3... WHY

  • nope not normal

  • did you ever fix it?

  • this is not my problem ...my wii's A/V cord wont work anymore i was playing it one day perfectly fine and then the next day it stopped working...i cant hear my wii on the t.v or see it but my wii takes cd's and turns on perfectly fine...can anyone help

  • @greengster51 Just in case it isn't already fixed: there might be a problem with the plugs at the ends of the cord, the cord itself or the connection in the wii. To fix the first 2, just replace it by a new one (you can buy a new one in most game stores). The last one must be fixed by Nintendo

  • thats exactly what my wii sounds like and now after a couple months of it my wii wont read disks anymore:(

  • hmm wii is louder than xbox and i can help u...Buy A PS3

  • @Sweettear01 PS3 sucks balls,keep nintendo wii!!!!!!

  • @MultiEnglish1 Wii is for little kids...are you a little kid??

  • @Sweettear01 FUCK NO!

  • I also had a promble with my wii. When I put a disk in, it could not read it. One day my brother was playing brawl online and he said it froze. So my dad and brother took it to nintenodo and brogth it back and it work fine. But when we put in a disk it did not make a sound. It just could not read the disk. Hope that help :)

  • I just fixed one like this yesterday. It's caused by a little white plastic ring that holds the top of the disc. For some reason it starts to make contact with the metal frame it's in, and a little bend in the right place fixed it.; it's now silent as new. There are guides on the Tube about this.

  • @camel747 send a link for it i cant find it

  • @rezrocknj Only if you ask super nicely, and use punctuation and capitals.

  • THats soppossed to happen mine does the same thing

  • tat is an anoying noise

  • it sounds exatly like mine you better not play it now because mine dont work no more

  • MY WII SOMETIMES VIBRATE LIKE A DILDO! LOL

IS THIS BAD? PLEASE MAIL ME BACK :(

    but its not noisie

  • I have the exact same problem. But hers what you should do. Ok, first go to gamestop then buy a wii lens cleaner. Follow the instruction then it should be cleaned. its 10 dollars so yea.

  • my wii does the same sound. but it read most of my games but super Mario sluggers and I miss it a lot

  • i had that probloem...id say you have about 1 more year on it... it starts out as a noise...then a louder noise... then an error screen everytime you want to play a disc.....then....it refuses to turn the disc....then its gone... sorry man i ended up getting a new one...im sorry i feel your pain...

  • i have a Wii..and its just craped up on me. 1 year later, so many technical difficlultes. i have my 64 and gamecube and ther older than a year about 4 years. and its still plays Good. wii is the most Fail Console ever! i hate it now

  • My Gamecube crapped out completely in about 2 years, and my Wii makes this noise but hasn't crapped out so I would say Wii>Gamecube. Just from my own personal experience. So maybe now they're tied =P Plus the Wii never made this sound before it was at my brother's house with drunk assholes running around so they probably kicked it or spilled beer on it.

  • just deal with it

i know how you feel man ive been having this problem since april 2008

  • i opened mine up and loosened it

  • Send it to Nintendo or get a completely new Wii drive and change it.

  • what happens if u dont get it fixed and just leave the wii alone....will it destroy the whole wii eventually??

  • I doubt it. I've had my Wii for years, and it's been making this noise for a few months. It doesn't really seem like it's doing a lot of damage.

  • i left it on for like 4 hours and when i was about to turn it off i heard it and i was like wtf?

just now i blew in the back fan hard and the disk slot. it was only silent for like a minute though. a louder noise is coming from my fan. i hate it!

  • Umm for th people who think the loud buzzing noise isnt a problem your on something

Its a anoying buzz that makes the game less injoyable uggg To nintendo you go my lil wii :<

see you in a year (lol) jkjkjk

  • I have the same problem too.

  • yeah I have the same problem. There's some videos on YouTube how you can fix it yourself by opening up the Wii. Search for "Fixing Wii Buzzing Noise" or something similar to that.

Though if you're like me, and you play your Wii a lot regardless of the noise, you've probably gotten used to the noise and/or grown attatched to it... Yes I have grown attatched to it and it just doesn't seem right whenever I play my Wii and it's quiet.

  • uhh actually you shouldn't play it like that :S it is slowly burning the drive. I don't know if u have fixed it by now but uhh yeah....

  • its the disk spinner, doesnt lock the disk properly and vibrates while spinning,

you cant do anything about it, send it for repairs if its driving you crazy

  • thats bad send it in to nintendo if u can prove its here fault it dose this then they must fix it for free but its gunna be hard to prove it

  • when i put a wii game in my wii it sounds loud. when i put in a GC game its quite. LOL

  • Mine does the same noise and drives me crazy. I wonder whats wrong with it.

  • Mine has the same problem for over a year now. You kinda grow used to that noise. Still, I don't think it's supposed to do that. However, I don't think it's something serious, because mine has had it for over a year now, and still functions fine.

  • mine makes noise too.however when i put it sideways,it gets even louder

  • if ur wii is making noise, but ur games work just fine, then u dont have to worry about it to much

  • i had that problem 2 in the begin it had no effect but later my wii reportet an error when i was playing brawl. after that it happend more an more and in the end i coudnt play any game. so ive send my wii to nintendo

and i hope they will fix it

  • its a piece of metal rubbing against the disk. you have to bend it upwards slightly. there are solutions here on youtube

  • when did u get ur wii because the first couple weeks the wiis were with malfunctioning disk drives i have mine with the broken disc reader from opening day although mine doesnt sound like its destroying the disk its that loud but not like that ding

  • what i did when i first heard that noise i took the disk out and blew into where the disk goes and the buzzing has stopped ever since i did it so try that i hope it works for you

  • I fixed mine yesterday, every single YouTube vid is rubbish! lol, me and my dad figured it out for ourselves, and IT WORKED!!!!!

  • My wii does all of that and I'm using it right now for this

  • can be solved in 2 ways keep the wii away from dvd players and other consoles because of magnits inside consoles and dvd players and also loosen the screws inside the wii on the corners it will work

  • I had my Dreamcast sitting ontop of my wii for a long time but I don't see how that does anything

  • thats stupid all u need to do is take the wii a little apart and unscrue a little the scrues in the corners thats wut scratching a little against the thing

  • Mine does that aswell. :(

  • no, i called nintendo about that they said buzzing sounds are abnormal. it only costs money if u r not under warranty. call ninteno at 18002553700 and tell them ur serial number and they will find out if u r not under warranty then it'll cost like 70 bucks i think just call them that is not normal and dont play any games on it. just one tim dont hold a disc like that (fingerprints, smudges, scratches cause glitches and skips so put ur finger through the hole and thum on the side

  • calling is free

  • I normally don't hold discs like that. All my discs are in pristine condition without any fingerprints or scratches (unless I bought a used game that already has scratches). Oh crap! My warrenty expired a long time ago. Oh well. I'l get the money eventually.

  • Well I got my Wii console back from Nintendo yesterday. And I just finished playing a round of Mario Kart on it. The buzzing has been silenced! And my memory was left untouched. I'm glad for that. It was a bit agonizing waiting for my system to be repaired (almost 2 weeks) but I'm glad I had it done. Now hopefully my Wii console will stay quiet and I'll never be annoyed by that dreadful "buzzing" noise! Game on!

  • Did it cost anything?

  • Sorry to respond so late to your question. The answer is unfortunately NO. It is not free. My warranty expired a while ago. I had to pay 75 dollars plus shiooing. It ended up costing me close to 90 bucks total when you count the packing materials I bought (box, bubble wrap, etc.) But I tell you it's all worth it after you get it back. The console will be silent and you get a one year warranty.

  • might as well open it up yourself and unscrew a little of the screws

  • My Wii makes this buzzing noise too. I posted a question about the problem on several gaming forums. Most people responded that they experienced the buzzing noise too. One responder told me that the problem happens with most 1st generation Wii systems. He called it a "loose casing" problem. I called Nintendo and the rep said I should just keep watching my system and only send it in if I start getting disc error messages. So I'm waiting to see if it gets worse. Did you eventually send yours in?

  • No. The disks play fine and I haven't gotten any error messages, so I just turn the volume up on my T.V and ignore the noise.

  • Well I finally did it. I decided to send my Wii console back to Nintendo for repair. I dropped it off at Fed Ex yesterday morning. I now sit in my living room staring at the empty shelf where my Wii once sat. I feel bad because I had a 46 day streak of yoga and strength training on WII FIT. The computer was congratulating me on my dedication and I've achieved bodybuilder status on most of the exercises. Now my track record is broken and there will be a major gap on my training calendar! Grrr!

  • Well, look at it this way. You can still do a lot of the excercises without the Wii. I'd say to just do what you can until you get your Wii back and continue with your normal routine when you do.

  • I'm actually a dedicated gym guy with a gym membership. I lift about 5 days a week regularly. When Nintendo came out with Wii Fit I finally had an outlet that combined my love for video games with my strive for fitness. Now that my Wii is in the shop I just feel bad that my Wii Fit "score" is tarnished. That's the gamer in me! LOL! I still lift regularly. That's my normal life style. But Wii Fit is no replacement for the gym ... just very complementary.

  • Ugh, mine's been doing the same thing. I got my Wii a week after the launch, so I thought it was an age problem... It only started making the noise last November.

It used to be silent with GC games, but now there's some humming, though it's still not as loud as the Wii discs...

Though once I played SSBB, and the sound stopped for a while, then started again. I'm thinking about just calling Customer Service and asking them.

  • mine did that, but it stopped about a month later

    works fine still.

  • i heard there was problems like this with the ps2 and hell no that shouldnt happen

  • Mine Does That Too, Im Gonna Send It To Nintendo.

  • it may be becase of tje stand tilt, when i but it on a tilt it makes the same noise but i usually just put it the long way so all the fans can vent

  • why do you have a picture of bob sagget

  • Oh,that? That's the box for the 1 vs. 100 DVD game. I think it's really fun.

  • oh okay, i thought it was something with full house

  • Send back to the big N

  • I had this problem, everyone says it's fine, or that it something that is common. It's a fault with the disc drive common in the first generation of Wiis. Unfortunately Nintendo don't seem to recognise it as a fault unless the Wii actually breaks (which it will do eventually) by giving constant disc read errors. If it is still under warrenty don't open the Wii and try to do a self fix, it could end up being expensice to have them fix it with a voided warrenty!

  • theres a screw in the wii and its too tight so you just loosen it...you have to take off the side

  • same thing happen's to me dude nothing to worry about the sound drowns it out and if you stand far away you cant hear it =)

  • it did this to mine but i hit it and it randomly stopped ^^

  • you should send it to nintendo if you left it like that youd be driven crazy

  • the disc is bein intaked wrong nd it wobble so u gotta lossen screw.

  • Apparently it's a simple fix (loosen a screw), but you're best off sending it in if it's still under warranty.

  • My wii does this! Send it to nintendo im doing it tomorow.

  • this happend to me but only on wii disc when i put gamecube disc it works fine

  • yeah, i forgot to mention that mine is much quieter with the GC disc, but it still buzzes a bit. not very noticeable though.

  • dude i just thunk!!! do you think that somthing could be broken inside the consel?

  • it was a production fault. a bunch of wiis have it. either way it doesn't matter. it's not effecting the games.

  • Ouch... that doesn't sound too good. Are you sure its not the disc?

  • nah. it's been happening ever since I got the Wii. I just haven't taken it into consideration. it happens with every disk.

  • That happened to me before a while ago. I say, give your Wii a rest, turn off standby mode if you have that on, and then wait half an hour, or more, and see if it's any better. No actually, to be much more sure about it, give it 2 or 3 hours, that should help. Otherwise, i don't know.

  • ok i see your prob what you have there is little production fault to fix this take it to nintendo and in about 2 weeks you'll have a nice quiet wii

  • It sounds like something on the inside is hitting the disc as it spins. Look for a guide online showing you how to take it apart then look inside for something that is in the path of the disc.
