It's not for noise abatement. Well, it is in a way. Ever hear an aircraft crunching into a mountain? I'll bet it's pretty loud! It's my LEAST favorite departure. Try it in a King Air loaded down on a hot summer day. Pucker-factor high.
Nice turn to 215 keeping the anti-noise crowd in Gypsum happy! Great airport to fly into for skiing, avoiding the dreaded ski traffic malaise from Denver to points west. A few shekels more but OOOOOHHHH so worth it. Ski longer, drive less, fly to Eagle.

I'm pretty sure that turn has more to do with keeping you from plowing into the huge mountain off the departure end than noise abatement! ;o)
