The interesting part of this is that if you look at history, tights were originally created FOR men. Women took it over after a hundred years of men wearing them. Ironically, women have been stealing men's fashions for a LONG time and have never been chastized for it. Flannel pajamas, tube socks, suits, loafters, boots, ties... all originally created for men.

Marketing to men was done independent of women. Besides, I've known and met troops of both genders to be wearing them under their uniforms and it helps them through especially in Iraq but you would call them gm wouldn't you? Pantyhose sales were down for a while but in addition to men, the sales have gone back up for women in the recent years. Nowadays, it's common for men and women to wear them under their long pants although you and I won't notice that they're wearing them.
