You know, SRV never tried to compete. Blues guys don't compete. I would absolutely never say I play like Stevie. SRV played alot of Albert Kings licks. He'd cover a song, like Hideaway and he'd never try to copy Freddy King exactly. He would still keep the the same, but you can here its stevie. Try playing the rif to pride and joy until your hands remember it. Then if you listen to SRV as obsessively compulsive as I do, you'll here his licks and you'll start to copy them in the air. of course,
