  • Also olaf2046 when your commenting in surprise that the map looks the same as before Its because it is dumbass. The menu's you were looking at are part of the software of the navigation unit itself, no navigation disc can change that. All the data navteq had before was transferred to teleatlas to continue updating it.

  • @shelbylynn702 Again the video was to show a point. You clearly missed it! I like how people like you come on YouTube for all the answers and when you get disappointed you throw a titty fit. This is YouTube if you already have all the answers or want a professional opinion I'm sure getting off your lazy ass and going down to your local BMW Dealership will give you all you need. I'm just a dude with a camera and a BMW. I'm not your expert and I'm not your teacher! So chill out and get lost!

  • You guys are all so misinformed. Navteq stopped making the discs for BMW AFTER 2009! and second of all what olaf2046 bought on ebay for $35 was a copy. Please do not promote that. Anything on ebay for under $50 is a cheap copy, if your disc says it has speed cams its fake. If your disc says 2011.1 as the year on it its fake as well. It's suppose to say 2011 and that's it. This dumb video should get taken off.

  • @shelbylynn702 you want a cookie for your annoying A-type personality! As you see in the video it is a genuine factory pressed BMW Navteq DVD and not a bootleg copy that I am reviewing. I only use the eBay DVD copy to demonstrate a point. It is my money, it is my car, it is my videos so I can do what the hell I want to. If I you have something to say then buy yourself a camera, a bmw, and a bmw navigation dvd and only then I may listen to you or care what you have to say. Get lost!

  • @olaf2046 LOL I realize the disc your are showing is an original one however in your other videos where you promote a certain seller, which is probably yourself. You clearly show 2 copied navigation discs in your hand and the disc you are reviewing idiot is a 2011 disc and you are showing a 2004 case? No shit dude. Btw don't you think my knowledge about this shows I own a BMW with navigation? Stop promoting copies. Or get reported.

  • @Jrowe I don't sell bootleg DVDs! Nor do I spent my time reviewing BMW Navigation DVDs using empty cases and bootleg discs. I have a dozen of these videos talking about the retrofit project and options for nav dvds. ONLY one of those videos I spent time talking about the 2011 speed trap and traffic cameras copied dvds in relation to them being a "cool toy" to have. Also in that video I demonstrate the negative effect of having a bootleg in your MK4 drive and I say why don't recommend bootlegs.

  • @Jrowe You gonna report me? BMW don't care what owners do in our cars. TeleAtlas is a Billion dollar corporation that don't care what YouTube videos say about their products. NavTeq folks don't care what you have to say about my videos to them. And all the creepy crap I see that stays on YouTube these days I'm for damn sure YouTube could care even less what you have to say. Maybe when you go to Church this weekend you could report me to God. Or when you go home report my sexy ass to your Mom!

  • ola2046 - We don't have a BMW, we have an Acura. This is not a bootleg. Navteq has sent many emails as has Acura on behalf of NavTeq. Really disappointed in Acura's choice of navigation systems!

  • @007Viajante1 ah yes I see.

yeah that is most likely why NavTeq was dropped by BMW as their Navigation Maps provider. TeleAtlas is said to be better.

If I was to choose I think Tom Tom Go makes the best Navigation GPS maps and software.

I have a road trip to Toronto coming up next week and I will be sure to take my Tom Tom XL 550TM with me.

  • There should be a 2012 Navigation DVD coming out in the next few months. Based on last year leakage I believe you can get one as early as August/September 2011 but BMW officially releases these DVDs for sale every year around mid November.

So do not spend hordes of cash buying a 2011 DVD as of this writing because it will be replaced by the end of the summer with a 2012 DVD. Also the BMW Dealerships have a big sale on all 2011 DVDs right now. I got my 10% off coupon today in the mail. lol.

  • Just a note to anyone NOT wanting to waste their money - we purchased the 2011 NavTeq DVD and found they don't even have some of the major highway updates that were completed 2 years ago! Attempted to get our money back and they won't consider ANY reason for returning your money - even if it's a sham! Don't WASTE your money!!!

  • @007Viajante1 You got ripped off! There is no 2011 NavTeq DVD. NavTeq stopped making DVDs in 2007 for BMW so you paid for a really bad bootleg or paid for a 2007 DVD under the false idea that it is a 2011 DVD.

As of 2008 TeleAtlas is the ONLY Navigation Software that BMW uses! So the ONLY 2011 DVD you could've bought was a TeleAtlas DVD not a Navteq!

That said the 2011 TeleAtlas DVD obviously does not have any real time map changes made after Summer 2010 because the DVD came out in Oct 2010.
