When I saw these guys live they played about two and a half albums' worth of material in forty minutes, stopping only for around five seconds between each song and blasting into the next one without even looking at each other for a sign. That drummer kicks ass, he clrealy learned to play drums with jazz music. The way the drum kit is set and the way he's playing makes it very clear. Why is everyone so close minded? Their music is spontaneous and fucking cool

Extreme metal (black death grind) hasn't been good since 1992 with a few exceptions. Mayhem classics are what these new boys need to be listening to, not some watered down less technical version of Cattle Decapitation. Good albums to be reminded of include "De Mystrillies Dom Sathanas" "Dawn of the Black Hearts" "Scum" "Infatuation with Malevolence" "Tomb of the Mutilated" "any thing by Gorgoroth" "killing on adrenaline" "Spiritual Healing" and "reign in blood"
I've seen these guys live twice, and its certainly not just random noise. Yes it is noise but its orchestrated and the timing is so spot on it blew my mind! Listen to some of the stuff off the 'New Erections' album and you'll see what I mean.

The originators of this style are Bands like Spazz, Man is the Bastard..they were doing this style of abrasive music long before The Locusts ever came on the scene, and never got the credit they deserved.
and spazz and MITB used no keys. Amps for christ ( membs of MITB) still only used effects on there stringed instruments. and look at the LP of Fiesta Comes Alive put out by chris dodge (slap-a-ham records, bass for Spazz) they are on there. the locust is older than most people think
In my opinion THELOCUST are a great band that don't have fear to do music.They have invented a new kind of playing that is incredible.We must think that music must be emotion,and they know they express a sense of anger as few other.

K, the instrumentals are very talented, the drummer specifically, but the singing is horrific.
I wouldn't really call it singing, but they are not trying to sound "good." Its supposed to be angry, chaotic, and powerful with a twist of experimentation to it. I don't if you don't like this band, but don't call the people that do idiots. I don't listen to them because of their technical playing, I listen to them because I love the dissonant, crazy sound they have, although their technical ability only makes me like them even more.

short blasts of powerviolence with a few breakdowns and screams thrown in would sum up The Locusts..nothing special, not even original, just that they wear masks on-stage sets em apart. The originators of this style are Bands like Spazz, Man is the Bastard..they were doing this style of abrasive music long before The Locusts ever came on the scene, and never got the credit they deserved.

and spazz and MITB used no keys. Amps for christ ( membs of MITB) still only used effects on there stringed instruments. and look at the LP of Fiesta Comes Alive put out by chris dodge (slap-a-ham records, bass for Spazz) they are on there. the locust is older than most people think

Worst. Song. Ever. No arguing with that, it's the worst song I've ever heard. I've heard some pretty bad songs, Tokio Hotel and Waking The Cadaver included(And trust me, those are fucking awful), but I think this takes the cake. This is brutal. It'd be close to making up for it. I'm not saying you should listen to the genres I prefer, I'm saying that I honestly can't understand what's going on when someone decides they like this enough to buy it. K, the instrumentals are very talented, the drummer specifically, but the singing is horrific.

I wouldn't really call it singing, but they are not trying to sound "good." Its supposed to be angry, chaotic, and powerful with a twist of experimentation to it. I don't if you don't like this band, but don't call the people that do idiots. I don't listen to them because of their technical playing, I listen to them because I love the dissonant, crazy sound they have, although their technical ability only makes me like them even more.

no actually the drummer is as technical as it gets try stopping on a dime and playing again as hard and fast as you over and over while remembering polyrhythms. being a drummer its really really hard.

I can it's not so much about time signatures as it is with just making noise the way you feel like making noise. It's a feeling thing not a technical thing... not to be an asshole. I used to be in a noise rock band... Now I'm getting back into the stuff I grew up on like Nirvana and stuff but like mixing it with this type of stuff.

well, it is math core, meaning constantly changing time signatures, that is what kind of makes the music hard to listen to for me. Having been playing an intsrument for 5 years in 4/4,3/4, and 2/4 time through out most of the song, the idea of having one measure 2/4, one 6/8, one 4/4, one 3/4 is just kind of nuts
