I just found out that you can use a sharp toothed comb and molasses in order to curl your hair. I have a few curls setting in my hair right now waiting to see how long they last.
Just rinse the hair instead so that the minerals from the application can build up and stimulate the hair follicles. Washing the hair totally makes the hair feel naked where you have to begin again from scratch. There is no time limit when the hair begins to feed on the molasses. It can still be stimulated weeks later after it is applied. and when you rinse your hair the dust from the air is removed but the strength of the molasses still remains.
Sorry, did you say that your new growth didn't feel softer until you put the baking soda in it? I did a baking soda and molasses mix and my hair texture loosened!
@FukkinBarbie no there are alot of relaxed women that do this. the majority of my hair in this video is relaxed. it helps reduce breakage on both types of hair. thanks for watching
Hey girl, welcome to youtube and the natural hair community! I'm glad you've made the decision to go natural. How much did you purchase the molasses for? Do you plan on doing a long term transition or the BC?
thanks! and i got the molasses fot about &2.70 something..it was less than $3 i konw that! found it on the syrup aisle. and i plan on doing long term. im kind of afraid of short hair on me lol. hopefully i can make it to 2 years!

I'm going to try this tomorrow before my co-wash. How long did you leave the molasses in your hair before rinsing?

could i use "blackstrap" molasses instead of the unsulfered and still have the same results?
naunii77 1 year ago
@naunii77 actually i think blackstrap is supposed to be better than regular molasses.

@naunii77 i dont remember, but it was probably for about 20 minutes

@gggrinz yes, this was when i used to used baking soda to cleanse my hair. I dont anymore use baking soda anymore due to the unbalanced pH

Just some advice. Use this technique on wet hair and warm up the molasses first. Makes things much easier.

If you use an applicator bottle or recycle a ketchup or honey squebottle, the application is not as messy.
