am sure u will be wellcomed in Kosovo as American, cuz we love America, cuz we believe even though with mistakes throughout their history America has inough people to hit it right sometimes as it is not about a nation but about the world gathered in work for a better future and Kosovo Albanians believe in that bright future, and they should be helped in their challenging trip to achieve it.

the war crimes has been a short secuence of what has been going on in Kosovo for many years, and every Albanian in Kosovo can prove this with their life experience. so pls feel ashamed of urself and dont talk here as the criminal Milosevic would be speaking, it just iritates me. may be America had its own reasons to intervene in Kosovo but stopping the cannibal like behaviour of Serbia against Kosovo Albanians was the best think America has ever done, and u should be proud of it

and the impact the criminal state of Serbia has had in my life. my both parents were kicked out of their jobs in 1991 so as other 95% Kosovo Albanians, the schools for Albanians were closed and almost every Albanian family had a killed or tortured family member from the Serbian criminal regime. the 95% Albanian population of Kosovo could not watch an Albanian speaking tv or attend an Albanian speaking school cuz they were all shut down, and thats why Kosovo Albanians had to speak up

Hi from a 25 year old Kosovo Albanian who lived Serbias crimes against Kosovo. i am sorry to say it but Johnstone's statements are absolutely untrue, she is absolutely missinformed. the fact that she was talking from Belegrade explains a lot. i dont think she knows the story of Kosovo Albanians or Albanians in general and the negative impact the criminal state of Serbia has had on Kosovo Albanian's lives.

Both Yugoslav People's Army ("big" Yugoslavia) and Army of Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia-Montenegro) haven't attacked anyone until AFTER the secessionists and separatists a.r.m.e.d. themselves and started attacking the army- supported by the west. And that was the only regular and legitimate army.

I've read "Fools' Crusade" and it's an unbelievably awful, disingenuous, ill-informed, and just plain horrible book. But even given that, I'm a little surprised at how simple-minded and just plain dense she is when she tries to explain her thesis in person. One thing for sure--she wouldn't do well in a debate with a reasonably well-informed opponent. She relies on a lot of easily-refuted nonsense, and her central theme doesn't hold up any better orally than they did in print.

The US government's National Endowment for Democracy (NED) is still carrying out activities to divide Serbia further. NED is also actively trying to break up several other countries including China and Pakistan. Check out their website for a list of their projects and check out the 'Intenatonal Endowment for Democracy's campaign to stop the NED.

NED typically utilises the media, human rights organisations and other NGOs (with their own people at the top) to identify dissident groups who they can channel large amounts of money to via CIA front companies, USAID etc. Then these NGOs relentlessly attack with propaganda and lies in order to demonise the target group as much as possible so that when the US government bombs them then there will be as little opposition as possible from the general public. The USA bombs to improve human rights.

Diana Johnstone is right. The news coverage of the Yugoslav troubles in the Western media was so biased and dishonest that it was hard to believe that they could pull it off. People really need top wake up to the fact that the mainstream media isn't there to inform it is there to push propaganda. NATO's attack on Yugoslavia was an act of mass murder and the perpetrators should be in prison.

@ChrisEdwards2004 and when you say "Bosnian" it means Bosnian Moslem, the separatist faction of Bosnia, Bosnian Serbs were in favor of remaining part of Yugoslavia but they are no less Bosnians-Hercegovinians. Another thing is that no even all moslems of Bosnia-Hercegovina wanted secession at all cost (pro-Yugoslav politician won the most votes) but the US&British gave support to separatist and islamist Izetbegovic (check:islamic declaration)
