As I understand it somebody beat up Dave's kid and he beat them up and got 10 years for assault. 10 years is a ridiculously long sentence. It was a political job.
Not only is Dave Evans a true original but he is also Great.

I woulda set that rich pricks pool on fire. Never heard about that shoot em up stuff, but always knew Mr. Evans was a real straight shooter. Outlawed for sure...guess sheriffffff got luckyeeeee.

How long did Dave spend in Jail for shooting up the guy's house?...Heard he was mad at the guy over something the guy done to his kid...Heard Dave Shot his house all to crap!

Ive picked and played with Dave at Poppy Mtn festival in KY. He's a fine singer and gentleman. He is old school bluegrass all the way!!

Dave Evans voice is made for that song. The band's not too shabby either. Chris Henry is great on the mandolin.

Dave Evans hasn't lost a thing over the years. I still remember the first time I heard him on LP singing 99 Years. It knocked my socks off then and still does today. He's like Hazel Dickens in the way that he's real mountain and doesn't hold anything back in his vocals. This song just re-affirms it. Great job.
