Hey! If you ask me, the normal Flight simulator is fine without a joystick. There you're pretty much cruising most of the time. But in CFS you need a joystick because you need a fast reaction time.

Dude, get some joystick, It's not expensive, I got Genius's MaxFighter F-23U for about 11$ only, and It serves me great. It's way more easier to control planes, because you get a real feeling.

NEED HELP: On my main computer (I did not downlaod the game onto the main Pc, but when i put in the Microsoft flight simulator 3 disc in It takes me to a simulator where i can fly boeing's and controll my own flight, E.g Take off, lessons, Select planes. I've now downloaded it onto my laptop using the same disc's, i expected it to be like it is on my main pc but it is not it's combat... Can Anybody help? PLEASE THANKS ASH

I'm sure this video means nothing to you now, but just letting you know that, if you haven't figured it out already, there is no easy way to fly. There is only one way to fly, and it is nowhere near easy.

Of course you can fly without a joystick.Just download yourself application called "PPyoy".It will make your mouse act like a joystick, so its much easier to fly.

Honestly, I dont see how you could possibly fly without a joystick. It is actually on the system requirements that you need one. Also, try to learn the controls. Its really not that hard.

LOL! yeah, theres no any tutorial video, only thousands of pages at index, its so boring trying reading that. that simulator is so dificult. anyway you should buy joystick, it should make more easily driving controls. actually I play that with joypad, and its better that keyboard, so imagine with a joystick!

u should try battle of britain 2 : wings of victory.

it is waaaaaaaaaay better and fun than cfs 3 and u can play it with keyboard + mouse while it still feels like an excellent sim.

in my opinion the best sp flight sim ever made with decent grafics slightly lower than il 2 but still amazing.

hundreds of enemy planes in the air without loosing fps.

il 2 is also good but u cant play it with mouse so battle of britain 2 wings of victory is the best choice u can make if u want real fun with a sim.

well I've ben i your senario. 3 weeks ago i got a joystick which got me back into the game. scored 3 bf 109 kills 1 FW kill and 5 Ju-88's. well try making your key combinaton to your advantage through options. Custimising is a good way. But i strongly recomend a joystick cause b4 all i did was bombing and start right behind a formation of Ju-88's once i made my run i was screwed cuase i'd turn to shalow or to hard. Good luck=D

yah, you need a joystick. I suggest one built by Satiek. Don't buy a Logitech one, they break in under a year. The Satiek ones can take some punishment and are resonably priced. As for the combat, you shouldn't always stay at full throttle. If you are always flying balls to the wall, then you will overshoot your enemy most of the time and then you're dead.

Get a joystick, no other way, if there was a a newer version like MSFSX it has a mouse for joystick mode, but that is a new feature so it aint found in older models of fs and cfs

Play around with the up-down-left-right arrow keys on you keyboard to get a general idea on how to roll and change direction. As for joystick, an AFFORDABLE and DECENT solution for any casual simmer, would be the "T.Flight Hotas X" from Thrustmaster. It has a detachable throttle section, which makes it ideal.

i have got CMF3 and i did not have a joystick.So my flights ended up like yours unable to turn letalone fight.I have got a logitek attack 3 joystick workds great with the game it is £35.Get one and put on a video with you SUCCESSFULLY flying lol :).
