  • I can do a standing backflip but cantwork up the courage to do one off a wall

  • i haven't got the confidence to do it.

  • dope tutorial i can backflip off of things but do not know how to do it on the ground and if you have a backhandspring then this move should be real easy to do :)

  • Pressure equals force per unit area of P=F over A in order to exceed gravity you must have a high concentration of force over a little area like the NASA shuttles the high concentration of thrust is place into one little area in proportion to the shuttle. With humans its the balls of out feet. The heel and the arch of your feet are too big to gain much air.

  • All your foot = all the power? Stand up and jump using only the back part of your foot. How'd that work out for you?

  • the only part i understand was not to whip the body and thats from experience and i fail many times casue of it soo it better if you tuck in to the chest which allows you to rotate easier and even better your heads away from the object you launched off of

  • hey great video but i disagree with your theory. When you jump you are jumping off the ball of your foot. You dont use the middle of your foot or your heel, so why put it on the object you are jumping off of. Just something to think about

  • thnks!

  • hey dont listen to this assholes u did good I mean it really it helped me alot everytime I ever did a backflip I went to the hospital but now I just hurt my feet alittle thank you this is a big impruvment and its cuss of u so thank you very much dont listen to them keep up the good work ^_^

  • However if you do favour height over distance most newbies could and probably will end up landing very close to their take off, potentially even hitting their face, knees, shins ect. so distance id say does prioritise height a little

  • you def have skills, better technique would help... check out my tuck tutorial, think you'll benefit from it, good job though, keep it up.

  • no disrespect, but the thing you said about, half feet=half power, and full feet=full power, is completly wrong...you know why?

next time you jump off a wall, try to see how you jump off with your feet. Where i wanna go with this? Is that when you jump like that (or almost EVERY jumps) your feet goes down and you use your gastrocnemius and soleus (lower leg). so even if you had full or half foot, you would still get the same momentum and power.

    I'm glad I helped you.

  • Wtf?? Calm the fuck down everyone all he done was a backflip off a pole not a wall who gives a shit.. At least he put effort into this video

  • I was thinking about that half foot full foot theory, I think that it would depend, If you were going to run at a wall and run up then backflip youd have to use all of your foot, Or well Unless you were jumping on the balls of your feet, But Id say standing on it then back flipping, Using the balls and or half of your foot would be better, more leverage beacuse if ur standing on your foot flat your ganna go on your balls anyways to push yourself, So IM just guessing half would be best. :D

  • your making this way to complicated i can do a backflip off things like this half the vid u explain the teqnique but at the start u say tequnique isnt important ok if u want to do this is u have a trampoline do it off a wall as u would on ur trampoline instead of all this unnecacery info

  • The theory makes no sense. When you jump the power comes all from your toes. That's why when you jump the last thing off the ground is your toes.

  • hi.(: if you wanna complain about layouts, then maybe realize first that layouts are an olympic skill, used in REAL gymnastics. you doing stupid backflips off walls which wouldnt even consider you as a real gymnast. thankyou.

    goodbye.

    -gymnast of 10 years.

  • Guess what, nobody gives a fuck about your gymnastics. This tutorial isn't for gymnastics. It's freerunning and tricking related. Take a second to understand what your commenting on next time so you don't sound like a tool.

  • do you have a dog i can fuck?

  • ur sick! but yes i do

  • i thought this was for wallflips

  • dat was easy i can flip off stuff hyer den dat

  • @freshboynumber1 well good for you (Y) but noone cares :)

  • im a 7 year experience gymnast and i now teach yeh u need ballz but listen to him he talks sense check outone of my vids i mad i have a f ack tucks in it chum2943 channe!

  • u just need ballz

  • i can get my right foot up and then my left but i fall as soon as my left hits any help?

  • Gay tutorial sorry..

  • omg dont follow this tutorial youl kill yourself the theory sux man that tutorial is full of stupidity OMG

  • i can do a back handspring o the ground so can i do this?

  • lol, i could do a backflip on the ground but i cant do a back handspring xD

  • no, you need more height go to a gym to pratice

  • i think its a gainer

  • what is the flip called when uve gone into a turn vault position.. and then do a backflip like kicking of the wall?

  • its a wall flip

  • @thackray909 its angel drop actually

  • lol wow this was a counter preductive vid half foot dosent mean half power it mean u can jump back easyer and what u do is u jump up arching ur back and then bring ur knees up as tight as possable or if ur doing it off somthing just jump back and arch then tuck insead of jumping strait up

  • i can only land on my knees how do u land

  • dude amzing thought to it i worked it out and ur right... ur theory.............everything bout it.......

  • i cant backflip on flat but i can easyly backflip of walls into water, do you think i would be ok doing it onto sand? (off a wall)

  • al long as you feel like your feet reak the water first, so it is as if you landed it

  • Comment removed

  • try jumpin off a dock or a diving board at a pool. thats what i did lol.

  • iwatched your now go watch mine

  • at 2;44sec..dat shets siiiickkkk....

  • guuuuuud :D

  • nice your good at that....im gunna do thay

  • very awsome dude

  • try again

  • is it easier to do a backflip off a wall then off the ground?

  • yes when i do them on ground i end up all fours, when i do them of objects im on ma feet, and not ma hands..

  • in my opiniopn off wall. Hes right, you dont need good technique to do them off a wall. Plus, you have more time to see where your landing.

  • your toe and foot theory is wrong when half of your foot is off you get more torque allowing you to spin and jump higher

  • fuck im goign to try do this tomorow.

  • lol me too ^^

  • me too !

  • half foot = half power isnt necesarilly true, you'd be applying the same force but on a smaller are, therefore inceasing the pressure, in the case of jumping however using your whole foot will make things esier, but the potential is the same

I realize now that this comment is basically useless so if you read it Im sorry I wasted your time.

  • the guy at 2:44 is insane ;P

  • here is the idea behind this one. since im in gymnastics i'll explain the reason behind the more height thing. all you have to concentrate on when doing the flip is jumping as high as you can, why . because you fall backwords while doing it causing you to automatically get distance, so your further away from the pole anyway. so jump high and make sure you lean before you jump

  • very impressive

  • yea, thats Chase Armitage.

  • Nah man it's Cole, that's why it says 'Cole' lmao =]

  • It is actually Chase Armitage and is a mistake on my behalf. This video is years old and I'd delete it if only it didn't get me so many views.

  • Fair enough

  • people are calling these guys Amatures...

But did you see the crazy height that guy did a flip from ... NUTS !!!

    Amazing 5/5* !!!

  • you can send all your energy into half your feet i think. so it wouldn't make a difference.

  • Agree, and btw, if you are still in learning process like me, you'd rather have distance ald land on hands and feet, instead of face on wall.

  • people put there toes on because its safer. u can slip and break/straign your neck if u use ur full foot. putting half ur foot on pushes u out farther and there is no chance of flipping. anyways, u are supposed to do backflips off your toes anyways. amature...

  • i have a problem with mine, i do good technigue and everything but when i land i mostly land on the heels of my feet so it hurts everytime i do it how do i fix it?

  • point your toes slightly throughout the flip , also stretch your ankles before and itle help stop a sprain.

  • ok i have a prob w/tucking but im pretty good ur foot thingy was wrong, the more fott u plant on the wall the higher the chance of slipping and falling on ur head, toes and the balls of your feet r the best chek out my channel i overrotate too so i fall bak alot

  • great tut Franz ferdinand FTW!!!

  • i broke my arm doing this lol

  • That is mostly true but you would have to push down with your whole body and swing your other leg up and around.

  • ok thanx i will try that and see how it goes

  • how do i get past my fear of doing a wallflip i am afraid i will crack my head open

  • Have a spotter standing by the wall, pushing you upwards and helping you rotate. Helps A LOT!

  • wtf is your problem, it's not our fault you don't know the difference between a wall and a rail. unless your talking about the 2 foot stone wall that you just barely cleared. Don't be a dick

  • Wall, wide ass rail, building, whatever, the same principles apply, they're all backflips off heights which was the aim for this tutorial.

  • Thanks man, needed some proper info about this.

  • is this a good place start with gymnastics, everyone says its easy, i have fear problems some one please reply

  • this wuz gay thats not even a backflip off a wall!

  • Yes it was, you fucking crack head.

  • thats a backflip off a rail not wall on a wall u have to run towards the wall run up it and then do a backflip this is some kind of backflip off a rail. u dipshit

  • That's called a wallflip, not a backflip off a wall you-mother-fucking-retard.

  • good video

im going to go for it this week.;)

  • at the end...

...y did the song keep playing but no video???

  • Forgot to cut it out =]

  • oh hah

  • 5/5 very nice vid

  • good tutorial..

    song name and artist?

  • The song is called 40ft, I can't remember the artist haha =[

  • FRANZ FERDINAND, ITS HIM HAHA. The song is 40ft by franz ferdinand

  • sand =]

  • great back flip

  • You're right I could.

  • ahha the full foot thing, maybe it works for you, but when you normally jump you just push off your toes and get height, so as an experiment try jumping with only your heels. you can't get off more than an inch or too. So jumping with your toes is what gives you the height in a jump. At least thats my opinion.

  • Actually, I couldn't back tuck when I made this haha. I based it upon the best techniques I had viewed, and a large understanding of biomechanics.

  • about the theory i think toes are more affective because think of a door hinge which moves farther the from the frame the knob or the hinge? Obviously the knob which represents toes

  • On backflips on flat ground, you need to jump straight up, however off objects if you jump straight up you'll just fall into whatever you jumped off haha

  • i tried to do a backflip b4 i saw all of the tutorial so on the upside my jump was good

  • yehh.... Franz Ferdinand Rulezz!!!

  • cheers dude if any1 has any idea on to how to stop me bieng a scardy little shit when it comes to backflips etc. plz =^)

  • easy.. dont do it unless you learnt it, do the minor ones, (like the ones where u fall down u cna just put ur hands on the ground not to hurt yourself)

  • dude i need help with that to i always try but i jump to the side !!

  • Jumping to the side usually implies you flicking your head to the side just before you jump, making you jump in that direction. It's scary, but if your head goes right over you shouldn't have the problem.

  • i hate this song

  • I hate your life.

  • lol you have an ass for a face?

not you skippy, +1 for the tutorial. it covers points most tutorials dont

  • lol

  • shuoldn't that say "The backflip OFF a wall"? and did u forget to finish the movie or something? other than that pretty cewl

  • rendered to long , happens sometimes with aftereefects or premiere pro or any ohter prgram what needs toe be set til where it renders

  • oo i never tuck my feet once i did both my knees went right in my face, i do the "bad" way but that guy in black and white is CRAZY!

  • bah

  • Got some serious skills, but I have to disagree with the veribility of the theory. When you're flipping you should be jumping off of the balls of your feet anyway, therfore utilizing your calves, in conjunction with your hams, quads, and arms, to spring you upwards. So by jumping flatfooted you would be leaving out a muscle group therefore limiting your height and distance anyway. Just food for thought.

  • Yeah, it's been quite some time since I made the tutorial, what I was trying to put across was its better to try and treat a back tuck off a wall like a standing back tuck on flat ground that you just try to go backwards in, so that you end up going a little higher =]

  • Yea, I understand what you're saying. Because when you jump off of the balls of your feet, you tend to jump back alot. I do that too. It's more about focusing to jump up.

  • Franz Ferdinand - 40 ft

  • Wel Im Gna Have To Try Tht. .

    Shud B Fun. .

    Gd Video. .

  • hi i am looking for anime friends

  • landed my first backflip yesterday of an object :D so i could already backflip of an object but its a good video and will help with techniqe :D

  • wtf watch " Leech & kriv - parkour " my first backflip off a bench i didnt made the flip fuck off

  • hmmmm. . . .i think ill stick to backflipping into pools, id probably break my neck attempting that ;)

  • Bite my nuts and call me Skippy!

  • hey great video! means alot to people out there when they're trying to learn this stuff. Gave me a few pointers as well!

  • skippy gives the best tutorials :D

    keep them comeing

i could do a backflip easy but this vid helped my tecnique, i used to use just my toes and tried whole foot an yea it was much easyer..!!..

  • Haha yes I sure do =] thanks man

  • No shit, but tell that to someone whos never done one before and they probably won't believe you.

  • hehe thanks dude ☺

  • Franz Ferdinand: 40 ft

  • okay...

  • GAHHHHHHH

I can do almost anything on a trampoline, but trying to do it on flat ground is just, not working. Everytime i watch vids like this, I go "sweet, i can do that, its easy!" then i walk outside and shit my pants. Stand there for about 15 minutes, then come inside. >_>

  • well...back hand springs are a little easier, but backflips have less of a mental block, so they're easier in their own way.

  • Thanks =} so you pretty much WONT break your neck right>?

  • you really WONT

  • do a backhandspring first

  • Backflips are much easier then back hand springs

  • I can't remember who its by, but the song is called '40ft', if you google some of the lyrics you should be able to find it

  • Trampolines are a good way to start backflips. I started on them and if youd like my advice the best way to do it is to stand near the middle and jump up and only up. Then after jumping up a few times just throw your arms up fast and as you hit the peak of your jump just tuck your knees and as long as you do that do not worry you will make it around. If your afraid of hurting yourself just dont bail. Bailing increases the risk of you getting hurt so just follow through. Hope it helps.

  • hey i REALLYY want to be able to do flips of some kind i can do frontflips on a trampoline and not backflips (yet) but if you dont get enough power in your legs to jump high enogh wont u tuck way too close to the ground, and land on ur neck (then break it) (im fairly fit and playy sports but am still scared to attempt it) are they safe on trampolines (backflips at least( if you've never try'd them before?

  • yeah theyre safe on trampolines =]

  • before trying to do backflips off things and wallflips and all that stuff, should i learn to do backflips on a trampolne? =S

  • it could help yes

  • Hey, i learnt how to do a backflip on floor ok, but i wanted to learn how to do it off things, ive been tryen 4 ages but just cant do it! can any1 tell me wht im doen wrong.

    search - Backlfip off thing.....?

  • you'll probably be scared

  • Hi, I'm having problems doing backflips on other things than my trampoline...

I need that little bounce for some reason, I can do them with only one bounce.

If you look at my video, you will see my little brother doing backflips from where I want to do them.

But he is probably crazier than me.

What can I do to make it?

  • Check for 'Shinodans backflip tutorial' and you will find an excellent tutorial for flat ground backflips

  • Dear Skippy,

I think that the demonstrator has frightened all the tots out of that playground; do remember to put a disclaimer on these "tutorials" if someone could blame you for an accident you may be liable -get yourself negligence insurance.

    Del.

  • I didn't tell them to do the flip =P

  • hey have you got any tips for learning a backflip on a trampoline first, i always seem to go other one shoulder slightly. thanks

  • Jump straightttttt up, and if you don't lean your head back and keep it going forward when you tuck, you shouldnt go over your shoulder. Search for dovickas backflip tutorial (you should be able to find it on youtube) its very effective

  • get a spotter, and practice

  • yo skippy...thanks for the tutorial i can bk flip off a wall n land safetly with a gd techinique !

  • *continue* (computer froze :S) with everything i do. My mum just doesnt like me almost killing myself. Give me advice, ive done hundreds of front flips using a trampet. I can do perfect handsprings and roundoffs but i havnt tried front flips, back flips from standing. Which is easier? i want 2 b able 2 do wall flips and wall spins but im just scared ill hurt myself. Im 11 about 150cm please help me.

  • Wallspins are easy, wallflips are even easier. Wallspins youll either find massively easy or massively hard. I have a tutorial on my profile for wallflips ;) check it out. Backflips are easier physically, they're realllllllly easy, but front flips are easier mentally, but arent so easy to actually land.

  • ok thanks lots. Ill private message u for any other questions :) on wednesday ill tell u how my attempt flip goes. There quite easy on trampet and ive looked at ur guide lots so i think i can do it :)

  • Now to go try it!!!

  • Let me know how it goes man =D

  • skippy, im 11 and i love parkour. I do lots of gym, rugby , athletics. I lvoe this stuff. Your really helping me

  • one of the best tutorials iv seen yet... keep up the good work

  • thankyou for your awesome comment =D

  • Thanks for finishing the song^^ For some reason whenever i land i wind up cracking my right foot on the big toe side of my foot.. i believe i get this from the ballet training i have.. we are supposed to land on the balls of our feet to make our landings look lighter and disperce the ammount of force on your knees and back.. i guess, do yall think the same principal should apply when jumping off high places? or should you just land as flat as possible and risk simply rolling back?

  • i land on my toes all the time, if its too much i do a backward pk roll to absorb the shock =] the song issssss franz ferdinand: 40 ft

  • WOW! THAT MAKES PERFECT SENCE!

  • good tutorial!

  • perect=perfect, my b

  • very good tutorial, perect flip to. keep it up.

  • nice job

  • is this guy like the backflip pro or somthin

  • foevahighman do u have a problem or something? if y have fck y man

  • Very gd, kl music to
