I was raised with heavy metal like Judas Priest, AC/DC and Sepultura but you have to love ABBA and the girl duo singing with Anne Frid and Agneta ..This is their best song ever. I allways been weak for sad and melancholic music...
I love all the music of Abba in particular the two most romantic songs to my taste - Lay All Your Love On Me and Voulez Vous. all are excellent congratulations to its music group ABBA to always love and admire Agnetha.
Thanks for including Frida, Bjorn, and Benny in your slide show. Agnetha is obviously fantastic, but too many videos like this treat Benny, Bjorn, and Frida like they were second-class members of ABBA. Keep up the good work.
Nice vid, and another great "new to me" ABBA song. I just watched Momma Mia the movie today and wasn't familiar with this song. I wish I had paid more attention to ABBA back in the day.
LOL, you can tell this came out during the disco era, with that heavy disco beat :-)
So good, such perfect, concise high energy pop and all topped off with memorable, insightful lyrics. This music will be popular for as long as man walks the earth. Better than The Beatles in my opinion.
@ragohan2008 BJORN looked as though he couldnt get AWAY from mumsy-lookin FRIDA-he was leanin forward, their postures werent even in SYNC,and he had an EMOTIONLESS -FIXED GRIN. AGNETHA was well-suited to BJORN as she was STUNNIN,always effortless. Im not suggestin FRIDA wasnt BEAUTIFUL,of course.
We used to listen to them at all birthday parties in school -- :D haha! These faces and music remind such a strange scent of magical light of these times: girls were so sweet back then and there was (seems to me) more humanity and kindness back then, before the dehumanising robotisation of the emerging fascist New World Order nowadays. I know these were chaotic times but people were freer and expressive. People back then used to spit on the nazi word "security"oh well, awakening is coming again!
As your previously noted, it' is an absolute shame that there is no live promo footage of Abba doing this song. It has perhaps the stongest and most distinct
"3rd voice" vocal harmony in their repetoire. If the angels are singing at the gates of heaven they will sound like this. Keep the memories alive, brother!
@sparkly131 youmight be a big fan but no one can top my gf she knows all the songs by heart she can sing them without the music and she knows all there is to know about all the members plus lots more stuff she has all their albums now thats a BIG fan
Lay all your love on me touches me inmy soul. What an awesome song. This slide show is great and goes great with the music. I watched it twice and fived and faved!
Back in the 80's, I was a bank manager and my job took me all around the world. One of my favourite destinations was Sweden. I remember one night I stayed at a Ski Resort. After 5 minutes of talking with two HOT blonde swedish girls, they came back to my hotel room and we banged all night to the beat of this song. It was fantastic.I needed to let go of my "stress" as bank manager and I am glad to say that I that I scored. As I was banging them to this catchy tune.
does anyone else notice that in this version of the song she sings "you've heard me say that TALKING was my only vice" instead of the word smoking. Is that editing? or is this the original version?
She says smoking! There is no editing on this version, its been poorly recorded as the audio volume is inconsistent as when the vocals come in it drops down. (listening to it on headphones you notice these things ^^)
Yeah, or all the others were way behind their time. Wish I could jump in a time machine and go back to when they were still recording. I remember being criticized as a kid for liking ABBA because they were no longer active. Well, I'm kinda getting my redemption now as ABBA are way popular again even though they are not together. erm, that was a bit of a rant :P
I used to listen to Abba ( 1974/1978 ) during my childhood..And just when i stopped listening to Abba, they amazed me again by the time i was into disco..
Great stuff Shay! I love the way this song drops a level for the chorus as it races along, its a bit like a rollercoater ride! I read somewhere that incomprehensible is the longest word used in song lyrics, that's typical of Bjorn's originality. Did I see Agnetha make a supergirl quick change into lycra - yes there she is at 3:52 looking great! Good to see you're back in the groove so quickly and flying along Shay.
This sounds amazing, great quality! I remember when I was 15 and me and my best friend Jo used to dance around her bedroom to this song!! Yayy! And Frida is so beautiful at 01:03.

My absolute favorite ABBA song. I am assuming it is Agnetha doing leading vocals? Funny to see a couple of heavy metal bands covered this.
ABBA was in a class all by themselves.
Pure magic. Never will get tired of this song:)
