@giptonsilly Water vapour is a powerful feedback but not a forcing. The amount of water vapour in the atmosphere is related to the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere. CO2 is what matters

Arrhenius published his first calculation of global warming from human emissions of CO2 in 1896. The proof is in we know the earth is warming and we know it is us. The evidence is overwhelming.

It will be at least 100 years before Gore's houses are threatened by sea level rise. I think he'll be dead by then.

@rugbyguy59 you are wrong. That theory that CO2 is related to water vapor forcing is entirely false and unfounded there is no scientific evidence in that theory. CO2 is a minor TRACE gas. The fact that water is 98% of the effect totally debunks the illusion that a trace gas of high altitude produces this much effect. CO2 only absorbs 2 narrow bands of infrared and at a very high altitude where it contributes 0 to the atmosphere.

Since all GHGs are trace gases that little factoid is irrelevant. Since we can measure the changes of incoming and outgoing radiation due to CO2's effect we know that it has had the main influence in the current warming. Water vapour does trap more heat but most water vapour is there due to CO2. More CO2 more H2O vapour still more warming. A feedback.
