hey ! i have the same ilaptop and im telling you its a piece of shit.. i had it for 2 years and my battery doesnt work, my laptop its overcook and its a crap laptop. im geting in a few moths a Macbook Air.. never getting a compaq laptop anymore. It get really really hot and shit. and i have so many shit with this laptop. hate my laptop cant wait to get a macbook

I had this laptop, and it only lasted a year. My charger stopped working, bought a new one which costed 100! It worked for like a month then stopped working. The charger that lights up stopped working then everything shutdown -.-

@3du4rdo74 its best to keep it "clean" as much as possible..delete additional files you never use anymore...if you dl funny pics, deleted the ones you don't look at..if you have lots of music on your harddrive, you might wanna buy an external one, and store the music on there.not a whole lot to do in order to keep a laptop running better than it was meant to.

The coolest thing about this computer is how wide the screen is. The screen is the same height as some other supposedly widescreen laptops but it's an inch or two wider making it so movies fit perfectly in full screen.

It really is a piece of shit laptop. I've had mine for about 2 years now and it's constantly hot, and blue screens as soon as I turn my computer on. The only way it won't is if I sign into Yahoo first, which is weird. If you're going to get this laptop, THEN DO NOT HAVE IT ON YOUR BED. I did that for a few months when I first get it, and it's probably the reason it's so fucked up now. Make sure you get enough cool air under it all the time, and don't let the fan get too dusty.

what you say is "DVD drive" is BOTH for DVD drive AND harddrive! I had my shit in december 2009 and all I can say is that ONE harddrive has been switched this year as it "died" and there was some service on it. Yesterday it made an inconsequense analysis and the rebooted and "died", I have never experienced a worse junk laptop than this!

I also got one and if you go to Windows Update there is a new Synaptics driver that allows you to do two-finger scrolling up-down and left-right. It gets a while getting used to it, but after you do it you never go back. You can still use the side scroll but the two finger is much more convenient.

I have Presario CQ61 running 2core T6600/4gb ddr2/Gf 103m/500GB/win 7 64 bit. A great machine. For 1 year I've been using it, there was only 1 major system fuck up, nothing else, no errors, not 1 blue screen, nothing but smooth run. Runs fast, supports everything I need. You wont play newest fps on high settings, of course, but for any lesser games/programs/ 720p movies it's great.
