  • This is the ultimate rendition of this song, perfect in every way. While never released on CD, and only on DVD, I was able to professionally rip the audio from the DVD so I can have this entire show wherever I go. If you have never seen Crowded House live, or Neil performing a solo gig, do so, you won't regret it.

  • wonderful;)

  • To call this man a genius is an understatement. In my Top 5 songs of ALL TIME. When artists used to roam the planet!

  • He was at the peak of his powers at this point in time. His voice was so pure. I don't know that I've ever seen anyone as relaxed and comfortable on stage. Simply fantastic.

  • First song I ever learned to play... And it still sounds as fresh as it first did! Xxyy

  • OMG I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS FUCKING EVERYWHERE ! WOHOOOOOO!

  • This song doesn't need any more production or instrumentation than this.

No wonder nearly all that have covered it (James Blunt, Boy and Bear, whomever) have seemed to have some degree of success with that cover.

  • Compelling!! Can't stop watching once the clip has started...

  • at the height of his powers .......awesome

  • a brilliant version of an everlasting song

  • one of my fav versions....love it

  • This is an amazing DVD if any Neil Finn fan's haven't picked it up yet. Don't forget Crowded House's new album "Intriguer" hits stores here in the USA on Tuesday and that they are touring in support of it. If you have never seen Crowded House live, then you haven't really lived.

  • YES YES YES YES!do i have to say anymore.

  • Neil Finn is amazing. I just wish he would tour the US. This song is one of the best from the DVD, "Sessions at West 54." Liam is only about 14 in this video. Its incredible to think he is now an adult with several CDs of his own. Its amazing how fast time goes by!

  • Definitely the best version Ive heard of their song. Very clear too.

  • terry nutkins hahahaha thats pretty sharp that hairywig hahahah class song though

  • najpiękniejsza piosenka na świecie...

    i jeszcze śpiewa ją przystojniak

  • can you imagine this is just two persons: a guitar a piano and two voices. It's so full

  • incredible. mark hart adds so much depth in this rendition with his pitch perfect, angelic harmony and understated piano.

  • Terry Nutkins is good aswell!

  • Timeless classic.

  • best version of this song..

  • I've always loved this song ! It is so nice and what a nice singing !!!

  • yeah not bad,get over it .....genius!!!!

  • A stunning version of a staggeringly beautiful song. Neil Finns voice is just incredible.

  • The finger of blame has turned upon itself-

And I'm more than willing to offer myself-

Do you want my presence or need my help-

Who knows where that might lead-

    I fall

One of the greatest verses ever--

    just heart wrenching.

  • amazing song. Thank you for posting this on youtube. Loving it

  • This song is the epitome of humility. Timeless music, 5 stars

  • I'm, er, um....speechless.

  • Mark Harts backing vocals bring the song out.

  • Most touching version of this song I have heard so far. Thank You!

  • brilliance

  • this song is SOOOOO amazing :) thank you

  • This may be my favorite version of either Neil or Crowded House performing this song live. Where was this filmed?

And yes, he is simply brilliant as a songwriter and musician.

  • This is from a DVD called 'Sessions at West 54th' it's a must have for any Finn or Crowded House fan. Available from Amazon I think, I got mine from them. Neil plays loads of Crowdy songs plus most of his 'Try Whistling This' album. Almost as good as the 'Seven Worlds Collide' DVD

  • Thanks for the advice. I bought the DVD and watched it tonight. It is simply amazing!

  • Assuming you haven't already seen the for mentioned Seven Worlds Collide DVD, if you enjoyed 4th Sessions DVD then Seven Worlds will blow you away, Tim and Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam) do an incredibly beautiful version of the Split Enz song "Stuff & Nonsense" the whole live concert is just magical start to finish. If anyone's thinking I must work for the Finn's record company or something ( I wish) I don't, just like to spread the word.

  • Fantastic song, fantastic vid, thanks man!
