  • Thank you so much for this video. My youngest just informed us last night he got an apartment. He will only be 15 min away,, but it sure has hit me hard. He is also in the Army Reserves & just got home from 13 weeks of training! So of course I was so happy & now poof he's going! I'm very proud of him! Yet I'm so sad. You have such a positive attitude. Have u started a blog? I'd love to read it. Thank you!

  • I didn't have my 2 boys until my mid & late 30's. Now I am losing them both at once! My oldest lived at home these past 2 years after high school and commuted to Jr. College. Now they are both going off to dorm together at the University 85 miles away. I'm going from all to nothing and my husband and I are so sad. I am finishing my last quarter to become a Hospice Chaplain, but I live in another state from my extended family. I am sad..sad...sad....and I am a worrier!

  • Hi Debby, thank you for taking the time to tape this video. To answer your question about weather you should continue on this subject or not. Yes I think you should. I am a single mother of 2 kids. They are both in college now and everything you are saying is so true for me. I am so sad, proud, happy. I know all these things, but the overwhelming sadness has hit me. I dont know who I am. I have looked for support groups but there arent any. My friends still have kids at home and they dont get it.

  • @lisalisa13us Hi Lisa Thank you for commenting. It can be a trying time when you've spent so many years raising your kids, and then seeing them all leave. I will shoot a new video today....

  • I like to call it "thank god they are gone" syndrome... and I'm coping very well !

  • Thank you Debby. You have helped me to try to realize I have to find out who is this person inside me is. I will not be easy. The silence will be deafening. :(

  • Thanks for the video. I'm a single dad & raised 3 kids on my own. The youngest is leaving for the Marines in June. I have never felt such a feeling of emptiness. I will try to use your advise. I guess it would be easier if I had a spouse. I can't stop thinking of the silence and the feeling of not being needed or being the "provider". I don't know who I am:(

  • @soxjoey Many people in the world are lost Joey because they never took the time to find out who they are. Now is your time to change all this. You will always be needed by your kids...always! They always come back, they always call. You are perfect the way you are! db
