  • please reply im always away so i cant mist my tarantulas that much would a repti foger be okay for a 20 gal thanks

  • @1327177

for what species are using this for. 20 gallon seems extreme

  • @Jon3800 a t blondie

  • @1327177 blondi

  • @Jon3800 a t blondi

  • @1327177

Personally kind of a big tank for a T.stirmi (if you specimen has bald knees). I suggest blocking some of the ventilation and start soaking the substrate more rather than misting.

  • @Jon3800 k thanks

  • @Jon3800 oh sorry i reply so much

  • @Jon3800 oh sorry i reply so much

  • @Jon3800 ok thank you i have to take some things out but i dont want her running out so get her a hiding place?

  • @smashthem1

Yes, every pokie I have has a hiding place.. It will run there if disturbed

  • hey i just got a rufilata and she is very fast and when putting her in the cage she ran out i got her but now i feel like she will get out when ever i have to move something or i have to do maintinence on her cage what should i do

  • @smashthem1

Well it's really no surprise since it's a pokie...Every one of these baddies are fast. You should be adding a hollow log so it can hide itself when you do maintenance.

  • Hey I'm Beginner to Ts , so I'm wondering if Avics ( Pink toes) are a good beginner species other than the B.Smithi (red Knee) ...?

  • @NESXT24

    yes they are

  • How do you keep your arboreals at the right humidity? I've heard space heaters can REALLY dry them out.

  • @Elithial

The space heater is not always running all the time. I keep humidity levels up with a small humidifier, then I soak their substrate about once a week and block a part of the ventilation so humidity doesn't escape fast. I'm always in the room so I can catch anything if it completely dries out. Hope it helps

  • i have a big question! i wanted to buy a mexican red knee since i am now new to love for taras! Im trying to find the best online site to buy them from because my local pet stores dont sell them. wondering if u could refer me to a good shipping and possibly cheap shipping prices?? :)

  • @jetcadet480

Since you're in the US and I'm from Canada (2 neighbouring international countries)...I cannot tell you if they have good shipping and cheap shipping prices..they vary from state to state. The US dealers does NOT sell to Canada.

    kenthebugguy (dot) com and

    petcenter (dot)info/petcenterstore

are currently selling red knee slings for under $40. I'd advise you try to learn the name Brachypelma smithi..a lot of dealers use it over red knee name.

  • @Jon3800 thank you thank you thank you! love canada ! I forgot u live there sorry.. love your videos. i wish i could turn my room into a pet lab! lol

  • @jetcadet480 i looked it up.. you can buy a red knee for 20 and have overnight shipping for 39 for a total of 59 dollars.. im aSSuming thats the going rate for most places...

  • do you have a greenbottle blue?

  • @jetcadet480

Yes. I have a large female

  • @jetcadet480

You can also, I highly recommend, visiting and joining Arachnoboards forum and look the Classified FOR SALE / WANT TO BUY / FOR TRADE section and they see what pops up there. You can buy species from hobbiysts that have to leave the hobby.

  • Jon how do you know what size setup u would need for a 1 inch arboreal spider.so if u had a 2inch arboreal spider how high would the tank be.

  • @cjcarlosnumber1

I just guess which would be a suitable tank. For 2 inch arboreals I tend to use the taller deli cups. I upgrade them to 1-2 gallon rubbermaid jars once they get 3.5-4 inches

  • hi jon

    i was wondering

what would be the most docile and least potent pokkie?

  • @BooshgaFilms

My miranda and subfusca seem to be the calmer ones. Unfortunately, there's no such thing as the least potent pokie, they all have similar venom

  • @Jon3800

from what I've heard from Rob C

the ornata has the worst bite

I shall check up in the ones you mentioned

    pokies are just so beautiful

  • @buzzsaw1003

"fake" leaves and wood is good because they don't grow bacteria/anything potentially dangerous for the spiders

that's why I rather use fake leaves

  • jon, exactly how do i cut acrylic?

  • At what temp an how long in the oven?? Also the critter keepers would u just use like 3-4 inch of substrate and make sure theirs bark for climbing?? They dont need a ground house?? Thanks jon!!

  • @Hadsatriani

most bark can be sterilized in the oven for 30 min at 350. It really depends on the arbroreals. Psalmopoeus are known to burrow others not. If you check out the recent tour video, you'll get an average idea on what my arboreal cages look like and how much substrate I use. They do not need ground house, that is for terrestrials only

  • Hey you said you put stuff in the micro wave to kill anything that could be on it do you soak the whole thing?? also those large critter keepers are oh for arboreal species?? what ya just cut back on the substrate??? thanks alot for your time!!

  • @Hadsatriani

its way better to put stuff in the oven, kills more bacteria. Yes, I have Avics and pslamopoeus species in their and they like it

  • @noobyhayabusa

you have to keep these Ts arboreal in 10 gallon tanks. They resemble large cobalt blues. Again, like the cobalt, it's an Old world species, so if you're new to collecting I would probably start out with a Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens (GBB) or Avicularia versicolor (Antilles Pinktoe) before you go to these Ts. Sinagpores have strong venom, move very fast and are very defensive if bothered.

Here's a video to show how fast my 2 inch sling is

    watch?v=SEr0ukeZ3iE

  • do you use your laptop or some thing

  • @lilbasteard

at the time, yes. Now I use an HD camera

  • I just got a Pt Murinus in the mail Fri!

  • do you handle your tarantula

  • i handle some

  • do you have a rose hair tarantula becase i do

  • i have 2

  • can i used a 2 1/2 gallon tank (side way) for aboreal T?....i was looking at the venezuela tiger rump or a versicolor as well....if not what are the list for a small tank like the one i got for a small T that is aboreal

  • would be fine

  • depends on the size of the T and prey...usually 20 minutes to an hour

  • they can climb narrow, some branches should be a bit wider for it to rest on

  • i think it is isnt it?

  • hey over here in wasco California those little cages cost 2.00 dollars in super store and there the same size

  • hes in canada his money is different.

  • oh ok

  • sell me one cause i see you got alot or you can give me a numba one website to buy thanks

  • These are not for sale, these are from my personal collection. I'm currently with my dealer doing breeding on 4 of my Ts. Its impossible to ship Ts across the US border without the fish and wildlife permit

  • whats the enclosure you said 5:48?

  • which enclosure in specific. I said these containers are good for housing pokie slings

  • where is the bug fair

  • the bug fair is comeing in 2 weeaks cant wait

  • I might go to as well in canada

  • the pink toe im geting for my sister for her bd

  • i mate get 3 tarantuasl at the bug fair but i dont know what the last one should be one a pink toe and mexain red knee whats a good one?

  • it depends on what you want, there's tons of tarantulas at the bug fair. Don't limit yourself for just the calm and docile ones.

  • ok thanks for leting me know and i relly found out my mexain red rumb is a gril and her but is like a bald spot i dont know why

  • vagans can and do kick hair

  • can you hadle them i geting one at the bugfair in october 17

  • they can be handled, but can kick hair of they get annoyed

  • im wording is a mexain red knee a good pet

  • yes

  • microwaving is a good substitute to baking?as far as decors?

  • yes it is

  • Nice video.

Is there a problem with Kritter Keepers when the avic web on the lid??? and make that their territory???

If that's a problem, im gonna make it vertical

  • no not really. If you're gonna keep it arboreal you may want to put a little piece of cardboard or plexiglass so that the substrate won't fall out each time you open the cage

  • Does it matter whether to put the kritter keeper on its side or not???

    Thanks!

  • it really depends on what species you are keeping. I just put a lot of hollow logs in their so they can hide.

  • ok, thanks. Im getting a 3" avic avic..

  • thats a big funell web

  • these are no funnel webs, these are tarantulas

  • 2-3 years

  • i luv your videos!

  • i enjoy makin em :)

  • hey jon i got four starter tarantulas g.rosea,b.smithi,and two a.metallicas in one kk what kind of tarantula you think i should get next because im looking for a little bit more agresive species

  • try a L.parahybana

  • ur so lucky u got mettalicas some ppl would kill for those

  • I only got 1 :)

They're available, u just need to have a big pocket of change to spend one on. Good size slings can run into $150-200.

  • where do u get the bigger eclosures?

  • pet store. The large arboreal tanks are simply 5 and 10 gallon tanks flipped on its side. You'll need to make yourself a small plexiglass cover so that the substrate doesn't fall when ur doing maintenance

  • thank you i just got a black trapdoor spider the only thing that sucks is that it naver comes out to play lol :)

  • Ya, I used to have a red trapdoor, yup that's a pet hole for ya

  • ya i un burrowed it and it was fiesty. I gave it a cricken but it just killed it

  • lol, ya he might be back to get it.

  • im looking for a new T but i dont wat to choose :(

  • Lol, same here. I tend to choose the most colorful ones and the most unqiue. what did you have in mind?

  • idk maybe Psalmapoeus irmania

  • the one u said something about dishes

  • those are just water dishes that I use. They're paint cups from the dollar store

  • join our reptile group dudes (im the owner off the group!) and talk share and have fun with other reptile owners all from snakes to spiders! From Omgomg113 The maker off Reptiles113!

  • The encloure at 3:17, is that good for a huntsman or a wolf spider, Jon3800??

  • The enclosure at 3:17 is an arboreal type enclosure, so I would assume a huntsman

  • awesome man! so when is P.metallica usually in season? like when will alot of people have them for sale?im getting mine off a friend but i notice NOONE is selling them right now lol

  • late fall

  • thanks man! cause i gave my g.pulchra 5' and im think it was too much lol

  • its adequate for G.pulchra

  • awesome vid man!! i will use a KK for my new P.metallica as well once i get her,for terestials and abhoreals that DONT burrow how many inches of substrate would u recommend?

  • 2-3 inches max

  • I just bought an avic 3 days ago, perfect englosure, I have the humidity AT 80% and she won't eat or has not webbed at all, I am worried.
