You would be more accurate cutting out the face of your router. Plus a nicer chop trim using a die grinder with a 45 degree bit. Not to mention using the proper use of an apostrophe. You use an apostrophe to show possession or omission of a letter.
Trust me I am not one of those guys who say I own a router and can make a sign! I have been making hand routed signs for 31 years. Don't get me wrong you do a good job and straight carving.
Dave, after watching your video a hundred times and purchasing the profile bit (that you were kind enough to ship out quickly I was able to make a nice sign for a baseball field dedication. For anyone looking to do these signs, that bit is the key and is still working great! FYI, I had some graphics and logos to carve which I printed in reverse image on T-shirt transfer paper, ironed on to the wood and carved in the manner of your video. Thank you for all your help!!

Dear Sir, if I may ask, what type of router bits are you using? I was loking at your videos, and I think I am going to "go for it". Thank you, and have a great and blessed New Year. - In Christ: Raymond
@oldave100 Thanks for the speedy response, Dave. I will write down what you mentioned, and then head over to Home Dept or Lowes, and pick them up. I am making some signs for my Rod & Gun Club, and saw that making them freehand is definitely "do-able". I am watching some of your videos as I am writing to you. Ha ha. Thanks again, and have Godly New Year. Check out the video tutorials I have made on my video page. *wink*
@oldave100 Cool. Did you watch the whole series (all the clips), or only the first one? Either way, it was made to help shooters get started reloading. (Or maybe give some helpful tips to old reloaders as well). Thanks again for you videos. The detailed information is truely apperciated!! Happy New Year. -In Christ: Raymond
These signs are fantastic! I am going to buy the DVD's from your website. I only hope that eventually I can make signs as nice as your's. Thanks, Kevin
Thanks Kevin, I appreciate the kind words..and I'm sure that you'll be able to do work as good as we do..it just takes the interest and some practice.
Hi...sorry for the delay...been busy with Christmas orders...I don't recommend using a plunge router if that's what you mean...and straight bits will work if you know how to grind them and modify them to do the work. I recommend using carbide router bits, Dave
I use three or four different router bits when cutting my signs...depending on what cut I'm making...I modify my router base a lil' and have a light behind the sign to make it easy to see what I'm doing...I know that I mnake it look easy....and it actually is...I've tought hundreds of people to do it...just take a lil' practice.

Hi Raymond,
I use (4) different router bits....each one is used for a different operation in carving different signs.
(1.) 45° chamfer bit. (2.) 60° "V" groove bit. (3.) 90° "V" groove bit. (4.) Special "profile" router bit that I designed.
Happy New Year...and may God Bless!

That sign you made in the video, how much would a purchaser buy that for, roughly ?
Enjoyed your vid by the way.

Hi,
That sign sells for $39.95...it's probably the most popular sign style that we do.
Thanks for watching...and your nice comment on my video, Dave

What is the name of that blade that is doing the cutting? How do you see what you're doing? You're talented.
