I watched this amazing performance on TV at the time and I was blown away. This and Paul McCartney's performance in '04 are easily the best Glastonbury has ever seen!
@cola414 he apologised cos he knew that anyone with a good ear would recognise the note was totally wrong. but thats the thing he doesnt mind admitting instead of hiding it, thats a good musician
@ ZACKO! STEVIE SUNG AND WROTE WE CAN WORK IT OUT IN THE EARLY SIXTIES BEFORE THE BEATLES AND A WHOLE LOT OF OTHER SONG THAT MOST PEOPLE DON'T EVEN KNOW ABOUT YOU JUST HEARD THE SONG'S AND I KNOW FOR SURE STEVIE IS A CLOSE FRIEND OF MINE :-) SORRY FOR THE CORRECTIONS
@Smiff74 I got tickets for this years Glasto. 3 Headline acts: Coldplay=wank. U2=Egotistic shite. Beyonce=Bubblegum pop. Heard Prince was up for it and got excited, but now I gotta go find some other bands on smaller stages!!
ive been to glastonbury 8 times and never have i seen everybody in the auidence singing along. im not into stevie wonder but i instantly knew all the lyrics and i can actually say this was my favourite gig ever!
I love how he makes a mistake after the harmonica solo and then apologizes for it. Haha. The man is a true genius, so we'll forgive that tiny error Stevie!!!
I think on the night I recorded this show of Glastonbury with Stevie Headlining and I still have it on my Sky+ to this day, because I loved it so much... If I want a bit of music just watch this.. Fantastic = )
theres so many people who appear as good a person as SW, but looking deep down they too have many problems. I just cannot find a problem with Stevie. He is just the best humanitarian ever, he deserves a lot more praise than he gets, USA should elect him President.
@kathleeen1982 agreed so good!!! but i've got no problem with the god stuff, if stevie genuinely believes god has played a crucial part in his music and his life...let him express it!
@kathleeen1982 See this is why Stevie Wonder is brilliant, when you get people discussing the finer points of his music and influence etc what you get is people resolving stuff peacefully rather than aggressively and being keyboard warriors, not wanting to back down!
I sat watching this with 2 hardcore metal fans and a rap freak. They all sang along, Its impossible to dislike the Man on stage, he's just the best humanity has.
@TehRyyu So right. Best Glasto performance I've ever seen. And Radiohead took some beating for me. I love all sorts btw. It was just the way he got the audience right there with him & the pure quality of Stevie & the band. So hot.
@TehRyyu I like most types of music, Im more of a metal chick than anything else though. lol But Im a massive fan of Stevie, he's insanely talented, and this song is one of my fave songs of all time! xD
@TehRyyu agreed man, one of the best sets, if not the singular best, i've ever seen at glastonbury. was wondering if after all the years, he still had it in him but it was so goddamn professional, but still managed to be human. was so good just chilling around the middle of the crowd with a spliff in hand, soaking it all up. what a musician.
Excellent work Zacko1337! I was discussing this set with my mate today who was there. He said there were so many "goosebump" moments and it will be incredibly difficult for Eavis to top this as a headline! Cheers Man.
@StoatFace I can't see how he's gonna top it either really, maybe someone huge like Bowie or a Zeppelin reformation would top it but I can't see either happening...
@Zacko1337 True true, I was dead on my feet before he came on and was buzzing for the rest of the night, Bowie is my hero but nothing will come close to the love there with Stevie..
