I've seen the debate and i'm reading both the quran and the bible. I must say that this monologue of dr zakir, although very interesting, is a very simple and one minded interpretation of the texts. This guy is not stating facts! he's a theorist and for the most part he is wrong. Many passages in the quran for example state the earth as flat not as round!! (Al-Hijr15:19) and states the sun to be moving around the earth! (Al-Anbya21:33)

Second of all, dont idolize him, its haram and he is not worth it! Let him bring facts and not theories. Furthermore, as in islam all depictions of people and animals are forbidden (its in the hadits), it is forbidden for all muslims to watch this. Muslims according to the hadiths should not own a tv or a computer as these machines are often used for the depiction of people and animals. Who is working with two standards? well the answer to that is EVERYONE: Christians, Jews and Muslims too!!!

Quran & Modern Science-Completely incompatible. Quran depends on complete

submission & faith in Allah. Science does not care about Allah's Authority. It has NOT got to submit to Allah's Authority. Science is dynamic, evolves & changes when new truth merges. Koran is static & can't change even in a million years. Science is base only on experimental evidence, observations, & logic. Science does not care for Allah's Authority.

@jeai2oto23oomi9 My dear, the fact that the formula of water is H20 is never gonna change, as it is an established fact. So an established fact needs not to change. The fact that Earth is spherical is never gonna change. You can not go any further when you've at the top of mount Everest i.e. if you are staying on Earth.

Also, do not forget that there are things that science can't explain. Naik said he is only gonna compare Qur'an with established facts and not with hypothesis and assumptions.

@lazimammoth Actually you are wrong. It CAN change, for the simple reason that our understanding of reality, therefore Science, is a evolving, changing process. We might discover that in the REAL structure of space, there is a distorsion that actually cause something flat to be perceived as round.

And the formula of water (H2O) is a HUMAN abstraction, just a way to ABSTRACT the water molecule, if we discover a better way to represent water, the formula will be changed/discarded.

why would the Koran switch the armies of Saul (Surah 2; 249) with that of GIDEON (Judges chapter 7 verses 4,5,6) concerning readiness of the army to fight. It has no significance, unless, stories were told, copied and forgotten how the original stories went.

Since the time the Quran was written 1400 years ago, human beings have made great discoveries. Today, we know how immense the Universe really is, we understand the General theory of relativity, quantum physics, evolution and etc. Funny, “God” didn’t mention all this in the Quran. The problem with Islam and all other religions is that they are stuck in time, while our knowledge and understanding of the world has changed; religion cannot due to its fundamental nature.

There is absolutely no proof of the claim, that the Quran is the word of God. The Quran, at the time it was written by men, was an improvement over the Bible and the Torah. It borrowed ideas from both, refined them and presented them as the word of God. The fact remains, Muhammad (who was nothing more than a general) and his men formulated the Quran as a way to unite all the various tribes on the Arabian Peninsula.

There is no proof that the Quran is the word of God, or for that matter God exists at all. What is the proof? It is all stories that you are being told. Lets think about it for a moment, Muhammad comes back alone from the desert and says Allah revealed to him all this stuff, no witnesses, no other proofs except these writings. If someone did that today, would you not consider him to be insane? Then why do you choose to believe a 1400 year old story with no proof?

2-The Quran didn't just appear at once.. it appeared in different periods of time, for example; when a problem happens there is a new aya that tells them how to deal with this problem and those who come after should do the same.

He just cherry picks stuff out of the Quran that can have a variety of meanings and translations to claim it is compatiable with Science. Why does he not mention that in the Quran it also says; Koran teaches us that the Sun sets in a muddy spring at night fall, that mountains serve the purpose of ancouring the carpet of land to the earth, Allah made the stars as missiles to throw at devils, Allah considered sky as roof over the Earth, which will broke/shattered during dooms day

Each & Every day Science is proving Religions to be Fake and hence Religions now need Science to back their Claim because they are losing their edge of Reality.

People aren't fools anymore to believe in a God in a Sky that created us. People read Science and understand how the World around us works and that no God is required for Humans to exist...

So Why haven't Muslims contributed anything since the past 1000 years ? Does that mean Allah favored Non Muslims to invent & Discover these things over Muslims ?

Yeah that's mentionned so indirectly that former exegetes interpreted the "scientific" verses in a way we'd find contrary to modern science or compatible with their knowledge.

The Qur'an shares the same truths and the same errors with the science of the time when it has been written. There is no mention of female ovula cell (like Galenus), there is mention of seven heavens around the earth, on where the planet float, so for example the sun, an idea derived from ptolomeus. You are only trying to read your own interpretation within the verses
