  • Can this thing use gasoline?

  • What city is this in?

  • @metemi

    It's in effingham, il

  • Wish there were more vids like this here. Thank you!!

  • 110 HP gas and electric engines combined

  • i wonder what they sound like without exhuast manifolds

  • haha, probably like crap. :P I had a faulty exhaust manifold on a hyundai and it sounded really cheap and crappy. lol

  • The vibration could be something you put in the pocket of the door. Usually that happens to me, I take something out of the pocket and no more sound. It could be something just shaking.

  • This car is pretty bad ass..I liek all the monitoring it does for you with the graphs and it just looks futuistci to me, plus you get ungodly gas milege..Cool car man, I really do like all the info on the center panel

  • Thanks! And the noise on the door stopped. It must have been because it was so cold outside or something.

  • That noise in the door isnt cool at all, id have them fix it for me and then id be happy

  • In a Prius the term "acceleration" must be used in a relative sense. Going from 17 MPH to 58 MPH in 13 seconds is not acceleration in any sense I understand, other than as a mathematical exercise.

(This from a guy who drives a 340HP car as a daily ride.)

  • haha, yep. I agree 340hp is a much more exhilarating ride! I am however quite satisfied with a prius. I think it would be ideal to have the prius, and then something Crazy Cool! like drop-dead in the sport department for those FUN days. and it would be such a contrast.. I will however have to save up for that one. :)

  • oh, and maybe it depends on circumstances, and the car but I get to 60 way faster. at least in 10 seconds. but many people I know consider 8 to be like.. REALLY slow.

  • MartySchrader: In a Prius the term "acceleration" must be used in a relative sense [...] as a mathematical exercise

    1. You wanted to sound impressive or nerdy? Prius II (in the vid) does 0-60 in 10.7 sec, Prius III in 10.0. Much faster than most European dirty diesel crappers

    2. Acceleration is a physical, not mathematical exercise, nerd

    > This from a guy who drives a 340HP

    > car

Whooa, I crapped my pants so impressive it is. Don't forget you get 15 MPG. Prii drivers easily do 47

  • "You wanted to sound impressive or nerdy?" This from a user whose chosen name is poo?

I stand by my assessment of a car that can't get out of its own way. In the Chicagoland area where I live and drive a really slow car isn't just a non-asset, it's a real liability. I know for an empirical fact that slow cars cause accidents. (Ask me how I know.) There is no way I would drive any Prius on the expressways I need to use on a regular basis. Well, not without rocket assist, anyway.

Toyota Prius II is the safest car in its class. Its drivers suffer from least injuries overall. In fact it's so safe it also tops the rank for one class larger cars and is better than most luxury midsize cars as well.

  • You really don't get it, do you? A car as slow as the Prius may be "safe" is a collision, but I don't want to get into a collision (be rear-ended). Therefore, I choose to drive a car that can "safely" merge, accelerate, decelerate, and turn.

It is unlikely that we will ever come to any accord in this matter. Perhaps then we can simply agree to disagree. You drive your Prius and I'll drive a car.

  • I quoted no crash test results but insurance claims score. This was lowest for the Prius. It means: low number and low violency of accidents + good passive safety protection

Prius got score of 78. Your Camaro got 102. LOL. Prii are in real life safer than Camaros: tinyurl(.)com(/)dyye5h

Then I checked EPA data. Driving a Prius instead of your less safe Camaro over 310k miles (battery lifetime) will save 9200 gallons of crude oil and will emit 115 TONS of CO2 less

    Your car = epic fail

  • The Highway Loss Data Institute is "closely associated" with and funded through the

Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, which is a mouthpiece for the insurance industry. These scumbags have their own agenda, which has zero to do with either safety nor honesty. Please find some data from the NTSB or some other reliable source.

    Your study = epic fail

  • @theannoyingdogpoo

"will emit 115 TONS of CO2 less"

Who the hell cares about CO2 emissions? Humans and our creations only account for 3% of the global carbon output. That's not even significant enough to justify your contentions. Hell, the leading cause of carbon emissions are volcanoes and wild fires. You'd be better off finding a way to force volcanoes to be dormant and prevent wild fires than buy a Prius...

  • @AGeekWithAShotgun Wish I could do that!

And it also has to do with air quality. And there is a very real and direct correlation there.

  • your car looks amazing!

  • ZOMG!!! A new video from Brad ;P

Nice car! It seems very quiet and smooth.

  • Thanks! :) It is, it has the tiniest vibration in the passenger door, but I don't really notice it all the time.

  • about time u make a fricken new video!

  • =D Yeah, I made 3!
