A maestro at his masterly bet. My mom-in-law was a poetess. At 35 when I asked her for Dada's casette, she asked me Asif you asking for SD Burman. I said yes, he makes me feel my roots. In my late fifties I still listen to his songs especially when I am alone and driving on the highways.

The song is beautiful and suits the setting of the song. Nutan is very expressive, AK has not much to do in this song. Above all SD's voice and music are the highlights. Thanks. The dialogues increase the dramatic impact of the song in the movie. The ending though, of the movie is so sad, unjust and disappointing. The movie glorifies values that are a bit outdated.

SD Burman called mukesh a non singer ! and hired Kishore Da to sing the song O jaanewale ho sake to laut in the same film Bandini, Kishore da could not sing the song right,.. and Sd Burman called mukesh in to sing the song,. Burman sahab wanted this song mera sajan hai uspaar to highlight the movie bandini, however, the great SD burman lost at the hands of Mukesh, the most popular song from this movie was O jaanewale ho sake by Mukesh Chand Mathur.
