What he is using here I we would refer to as jam as well.. jelly is more of a jello consistency and is clearer, jam has actual pieces of fruit and preserves have whole fruit! We just call it Peanut butter and jelly because that is the name, but I just made mine with jam also!

Over here in the US we have both Jelly and Jam. Jelly has a jellied texture, sort of like you see with jello. Jam is smoother, not as many preservatives, additives and the like.

We still call it pb&j even if its just jam and not jelly
