The bird was actually rescused from a magician using him in a act with fire. It had singed feahers and was deathly afraid of the owner's cat. The box was large enough to hold the bird comfortably until retuned to a big cage.

Virtually everything done to animals by humans is cruel. I could not release to bird into the wild as it was cage reared from birth that alone is sad for an animal with the gift of flight. Cast a stone only if you have never eaten meat , worn leather, went to a zoo , circus, rodeo, bullfight , used pesticides, or the countless other ways that humans have abused animals on this planet.
