The man still has awesoem glutes! You can really see how hard he works. When you have have glutes, you have some good muscle to prove that you are working. I hope he never stops competing.
He inspired me to focus on my back training, he is an example of why having a large back is so important. He looks bad because he has such a pitiful underdeveloped back. If he had done some heavy deadlifts and built a strong back he may have been able to go somewhere in bodybuilding. His shoulders look very narrow, I think that is due to his weak back.

If his back was in proportion to his chest I think his shoulders would not look so narrow. It is strange for someone with as much muscle mass as he has to have such narrow looking shoulders. There are no other pro bodybuilders that look like this and Gary is on the taller side of pro bodybuilders. His shoulders should look much wider.

For joining the WBF. The IFBB didn't allow any of its bodybuilders to compete in other organizations and I believe still don't.
At the time the IFBB announced that any bodybuilder that joined the WBF would be banned for life to prevent others from defecting and to keep their monopoly in the sport.
He seemed to fall off the planet after the WBF went tits up. I imagined he'd retired... after the sham that was the WBF, I imagine he likely had a hard time being taken seriously as a bodybuilder in the pro ranks again... not because of any lack of MUSCLE... but because the WBF was as scripted as pro-wrestling. Poor guy. I think he'd have been a great Mr. Olympia under different circumstances.
