hey mate It is happening to me on every race!! it started only on b spec races but now it happens on a spec the good thing is that aparantly it doesn't happen online I don't know why... I have read about this problem (licences one) is It fixed, isn't it?
I'm now having this problem, bit its not directly after any patch. The only different thing is I plugged a GT wheel in and it happened directly afterwards, but now it freezes with the pad.
@runsa was this after the new update? because my friends freezes at the Loading menu before you get to pick what mode you want.. try deleting the update and playing it offline.. my friend just got his to load up but now he has to cursor..
@kaleigh79 It was happening to me after 1.02. But i'm assuming i might have a hardware issue with my ps3 slim blu-ray drive as it seems i'm unable to play certain games that require heavy disk reading.
@runsa that's no good :( that could be the problem.. Ive heard lots of people with bluray problems.. few of my friends too.. Hope you get things working..
I am having this exact problem. I did a quick search and found hundreds of posts on this same issue, and Sony support has no idea what the problem is. I can't believe this got through to the released product. I waited 6 years to pay full retail for a beta! Screw you PD and Sony.

They fixed it by an update and raymond never uses a wheel like you do...

Is your ps3 hard drive light(orange) still on when the game freezes? or is everything even the home button unresponsive?
I'm having a freezing issue of my own...except its before the game even reaches the main menu :P
