This is a very, very good version of the aria! I really like Kraus! Especially in Werther.
There is only one I like better. Jussi Bjorlings version of the song is so powerful that my stereo-speakers "can´t take it"...Really it must have been wonderful live. Fiery sung sparkling with overtones.
sorry but he sang a mistake at the begining he said "je crois l'avoir encore" the right sentence is "je crois entendre encore" lol theyre is a difference between "to have" and "to hear" but he made a good performance i love these song ! thank for the video add !
It's a pity that he got that wrong - at the very beginning of the song too! He also sang the wrong words at the end, it's meant to be "charmant souvenirs". But even with those mistakes, it's the best version i've heard of this song! Just beautiful!

Kraus is -- as always -- elegant, if a little disengaged dramatically. Nicolai Gedda recorded a version that is sublime, as if he is lost in a dream.
