This game had the most notoriously hard combos to execute (stick btw, not controller((for the babies btw)).

And the brutalities had the sickest ending combos that I ever saw in a game!

But too bad we don't have the same system.

I'd like to show you better than I can tell ya! Especially with that Cage Masta!

@youaremyoffspring I contest because everyone has a different opinion of what they consider the best, it's just that MK9 tends to be the big favorite these days because not only does it draw in newcomers, but it also satisfies the veterans who've been around since day one, especially considering the throwbacks they've done.

It's the Cage Masta's X-ray. Just when you think your in trouble, but boy! That Cage Masta has 3 bars and he's gonna parry you! *Dirty deeds done dirt cheap*

Excellent X-ray! I like Stryker's X-ray second.

And believe me Shao Kahn was a badass. Not going to lie about that one.

But if could do the Master II ladder with only 2 quarters you were badass. And execute brutalities! OMG you were considered again, A BADASSS!

But dude what I don't like is, how are they gonnn nerf Freddy Krueger?

I mean what the fuck is up with that? He's got some awesome mechanics, but X-ray alone does 35%! lol. But my combo just nerfs it! I do the sleep, plus nightmare stance and x (2 if your ps3) spike, your in my dreams in then x-ray. It always lands 29%! I just want to know how in hell does that plus the x-ray do less damage?

I'm not that good. As far as MK9 goes. My best comboes are with Stryker, Nightwolf and the Cage Masta!

I do the demonic special with Stryker and I do the frybread special with Nightwolf. They both deal 48% damage.

But that Cage Masta does 52% if I can get that wall combo right.

Btw, their all with the X-ray.

Kabal and Robot Smoke are still my favorite fatalities.

Imagine if they had Kabal's scare fatality on the new one!

Ehhh!!!! They'd have a scary face to live up to. Because I'm not gonna lie, I was a little kid when I first saw Kabal's fatality and it scared the shit out of me! LOL!

It'd be something if they could actually bring this type of awesomeness back. They tried their best with MK9, but you just can't any more brutal than UMK3! It's yet to be matched!

To UnderGroundGamers, you forgot about Scorpion's 3rd fatality: The Hellraiser (which is F, F, D, U, + Run when close to your opponent). That's also in the N64 version, like both the Arcade & the Saturn versions of UMK 3 are.

That Fatality isn't loaded in the Supreme Demonstration because the reel loads two Fatalities for characters. Since Scorpion is the only one with three...yeah

There were characters that were added on in MK3, UMK3, and the home versions of UMK3. Because they were palette swaps of existing characters (and new characters programmed from scratch), the developers could put in more characters without using up a lot of memory.

Oh sure, the PSX version had better sound quality and more characters, but it also had problems too.

The PSX version has an essentially shorter version of the Supreme Demonstration and the game is plagued with long loading times.

The N64 version however, has no loading times of course, an absolute and working Supreme Demonstration, not to mention a larger Shao Kahn's Treasures, a 3-on-3 Kombat option and Khameleon, who actually has her own story XP

But I want this brutal darkness with it as well! This MK was their Opus Magnum. Trilogy was just fucking insane! Way more better than Armageddon.

They probably had to actually tone it down after these games.

It sucks but someday, supremacy shall arise again!
