@Adrammalech7570 wrong. mac vs. pc= mini cooper vs space ship. its not "modified" , its the best of everything put together flawlessly. with better assembly than a mac, because it was put together carefully by my hands, instead of some worker rushing the job. my computer has either the best of or almost the best parts. macs and other manufacturers use shitty generic parts made in china. my motherboard is made in japan with the highest quality parts (such as capacitors). so, wrong.

They are nice. But they aren't awesome. I can level here because I have both.  I have to say though custom rig that can do anything with windows 7 64 bit is way better. If you are computer illiterate, you will know what programs belong on or do not belong on your system to get a virus. I have not gotten one virus, freezing, hardware effect, bsod.

I'm more of a pc guy now. I don't like when you ask someone why mac is better "It just is" You can do anything on a pc and never get a virus.

Yes but when you get the Mac at First you get the Highest Quality out of it. And what kind of macs do you got at your school. If its a G5 then its probably might Crash. But never i have seen viruses on a mac. Maybe like back in 1990 when viruses where killing off computers both Mac And Pc.

ausie114, while I agree with most of your comments, I will disagree with 15,000RPM drives being very loud. I've got a couple in my PC and the rotational sound is dead silent, so it produces no more rotation noise than a standard sata drive. The seek noise is definitly louder than the quietest sata drives, but I've heard some WD and Maxtor SATA that have seek noise which is pretty much the same volume.

By the way Apple does have 15'000 RPM for MacPro optional but if you choose that option you won't be able to use any other hard disk on all 4 slots on the MacPro.

I thought about that too, but what if you ebay parts from trashed Macs or spare parts? Technically you are using apple certified parts, still building (or rebuilding) a mac. One thing though, you would really need to make sure you have decent parts and not build some contraption with parts from 5 different generations or models.

The only thing is custom PCs are made by enthusiast. Apple's whole line is made by slave Chinese workers. Just the way Steve Jobs loves his products made.
