If anything we should look at how low those numbers are for the worst nuclear accident in history, and see how they compare to other industries. The nuclear industry is still one of the safest there is. Many chemical and toxic metal industries are often far worse because they don't get the media attention that radiation gets.

We are not being hurt by Fukishima in NA.

Japan is also a very humid country that normally receives a lot of rain. Mountains,rain, and a country prone to volcanic/earthquake activity means there are also bad landslides sometimes. So there are not very many place in Japan or the world for that matter that you can escape natural disasters.so all one can do is try an be better prepared for the worst case.

We've had several earthquakes on that fault line (not just the one that cracked the Washington Monument) and every quake has tripped the auto shutoff at the North Ana NP Plant.
