@rastclart the 6 cylinder engine is the exact same as the 4 cyl, with just 2 more added. do the math, 2.0 vs 3.0, 2.2 vs 3.3, and the 2.5 vs 3.6L engines. so long as the engine is built by subaru, it counts.

You have to question the credibility of the person who uploaded the video...do they physically work for the team that campaigns the car? Do they personally know the team and/or driver? @TFritz82 Well in that case they need to change it to 200 hp per cyl... ;). Take away the UEL headers and you get rid of the amazing sound that Subaru originally designed and will sound more like this, or more so like the JDM ver 8 and newer STi's. Either way, its still Imprezive.

For handling, rally, and anything that isn't going to put an extenuating amount of strain on the MT/EAT series trannys, sure its great. When you want to press a crap load of power out of it, forget it. Also, why not? Personally, if I was going to put together a drag subie I would put a powerglide in that bugger and a chevy rear diff. Also, if the wheels in the front are not turning with exactly the same amount of force as the rear, it causes drag that robs speed. Think about that.
@saintluke87 ight, i live in minnesota and i dont think its a big racing place and iv seen faster with less hp. its not wet in the tire lanes but right to the side theres sumthin there, in his second race he spun the tires (which is kinda cool cause he has wrinkle walls which means he has a fast ass car) and he swerved to the side a little and then he fish tailed... he could be like 7.3 or less but the track wasnt the best... at least when he raced.
@beats4life32 this track is in sydney, aus. The "wet" is traction compound which is how they prep any drag strip, and is in fact super sticky. The wheelspin is from the car setup, and obviously the power. The cars quickest time it ran was a 7.5 and think its limiting factors were its short wheelbase because it still is a full steel bodied car - IE not full chassis with a rex body like people are saying..

@psykedelicdude4 Its doesnt matter if it was 7.79 or 7.98 secs.. Its was counted as 7sec.. Unless its hit the 8 sec mark till 8.99 sec, then its counted as 8 sec time..

This is Tony rigoli performance's car. It IS awd. But it IS selectable. It's a built auto awd which he has selectable center diff or front diff I'm not sure to switch between awd-rwd. He does rwd burnouts for tire heat then engages awd. This video shows him doing a wheelie so maybe this one is a rwd launch or a turbo 400 trans. But he does have the awd trans as a selectable. It is a boxer 6 too.

Please could you explain to me the differences. I though AWD meant "All-Wheel-Drive" and 4WD meant 4-Wheel-Drive, so if a car has 4-wheels and most do, its sort of the same thing really, isn't it?
You have the meanings correct. Generally, AWDs have a center differential, and 4WD do not. This allows AWDs to drive all 4 wheels at the same time, all the time, while 4wd it must be engaged, and should only be used when the tires can slip and maintain the same speed.
4WD is generally used in trucks, AWD in passenger cars, but you'll see them switched around. You'll also see AWD cars with 4WD badges on them from time to time.

@RamboCambo253 hurr hurr. Its a full chassis 7sec rwd wrx, why would it even use a subaru transmission? iirc it uses a liberty 5sp. As in liberty clutchless got nothing to do with subrau gearbox. Seeing as its best mph is 185 1200 engine hp seems conservative. Do the maths.

This is Tony rigoli performance's car. It IS awd. But it IS selectable. It's a built auto awd which he has selectable center diff or front diff I'm not sure to switch between awd-rwd. He does rwd burnouts for tire heat then engages awd. This video shows him doing a wheelie so maybe this one is a rwd launch or a turbo 400 trans. But he does have the awd trans as a selectable. It is a boxer 6 too.

@pannuhgaar this is a 6cyl. but subaru boxer engines react different from vortec engines, as does wankel-powered vehicles such as the rx-7. but yeah, v8's own. look at hartleys 200 lb v8 that fits in a 4cyl place. omfg... can u say v8 fiero? well, maybe not, it might flip. lmfao

Please could you explain to me the differences. I though AWD meant "All-Wheel-Drive" and 4WD meant 4-Wheel-Drive, so if a car has 4-wheels and most do, its sort of the same thing really, isn't it?

You have the meanings correct. Generally, AWDs have a center differential, and 4WD do not. This allows AWDs to drive all 4 wheels at the same time, all the time, while 4wd it must be engaged, and should only be used when the tires can slip and maintain the same speed.
4WD is generally used in trucks, AWD in passenger cars, but you'll see them switched around. You'll also see AWD cars with 4WD badges on them from time to time.
