I used to have a Droid Factory and I made hundreds of robots. Some that looked like space tanks, some that looked like cars of tomorrow, and some that looked like the Mars Viking Lander Probe. I even made the Droid Monster according to the instructions. I just wish they bring it back for today's kids. It could be made to be compadible for the Legacy Collection Droid Factory figures.

I have one of these right now. Still in the box, all the plastic droid pieces are still attached to the plastic racks, instruction manual is mint, sticker sheet is there, and all 100 droid parts are intact. I'd say it's worth something right?
I loved star wars soooo much but my parents didn'T have enough money to buy me any until one X-mast ... i received this droid factory , it was the only star wars toy i ever had as a child , i was so happy , i had much fun playing with it . how i would like to put my hands on one of those .
I liked this playset as a kid although there wasn't much opportunity for figure interaction with the piece. Kenner, however, got plenty of use out of the set; they used the basics 3 times, for the Droid Factory and the two versions of Jabba's Dungeon that were Sears exclusives.
I enjoyed this when I was a kid. It had too many really small parts though. I think by the end of the 2 week I owned this I was down to only being able to make 2 droids. The R2 with this was my favorite due to being able to have the center leg.
YODAS HOVEL at classicstarwarsfigures.c0m is a scam artist and if you buy things from this site you will lose your money. The guy got kicked out of ebay recently for ripping peolpe off....BEWARE COLLECTORS...
It's amusing looking back on this now since Hasbro is doing a reinvention of the whole idea, only now you can create hundreds of different Astromech/Protocol droid combinations using "parts" that you collect from action figure packages marked "Build-A-Droid".
That thing was so cool (when we were kids)

When this came out, i was the envy of my friends having an R2D2 with three legs... and the parts made a great load of trash for the deathstar...
