This isn't the early days... that's Toussaint singing, which means it's at the earliest, late 2006. Something might have gone wrong with his M-Audio MIDI controller or his laptop (he processes his bass EQ and patch through an Apple).
Yeah, that's what I meant. Something must've have went wrong, or maybe they were playing at a festival and were only on for a few songs. Hardly worth the setup when there's a decent alternative.
Yeah. I didn't mean to sound rude or anything if I did. And I screwed up, it's not Toussaint singing. It's either Reggie Watts or Ivan Neville, I can't completely tell. But Reggie and Ivan both sang with them from early 2005 to mid 2006.
Neal ditched the bass keys because they kept on sticking. tech problem, so he just decided to do it on the organ.

Neal is actually using the lower keys of the organ to play the bass line instead of the usual keyboard to do it.
He used this setup in the early days before he experimented with other bass sounds.

Yo wazzup with Neal's rig? No bass board. Interesting to see him playing full two-hand chords on the Hammy though. Coolness.
