@Wrenchfayce yeah mate, just want to congratulate the New Zealand public and crowds on their sportsmanship. constantly bagging cooper and purposely buying tickets so Australians couldn't get in to watch their own games. Thanks for a shitty world cup. See u in England.
@94Hurstie your obviously leadin' the way in sportsmanshiip yourself (as was your boy Cooper when he kneed McCaw in the head) so apologies we can't attain such a lofty standard of conduct and for purposefully buying tickets to matches held in our own country.
Incredible. Rugby Union is just a shadow of its former self. With teams like the current SA team exploiting crappy rules, I'm not sure when this game will turn around :(
@fcukugimmeausername they changed the rules this year. And tey are now running around a lot more! watch Reds play they refuse to not run the ball, and the wallabies and all blacks the same! World cup 2011 is looking ike a big one
Amazing match. I only barely remember it, pity! I do love hearing unbiased commentators regardless of their nationality, brings the international rugby community closer together i think! Also the legends who played on that day, wow, blackadder, lomu, cullen, umaga... gregan, mortlock, larkham. what a selection!
go to ISOHUNT and put in rugby in to the search engin and look for australia vnz 2000 takes about 2 days to download but is worth it also you will need a dvd player that plays divx files (usually a cheaper player)
in those days the clock didn't stop counting for stoppages like injuries, blood bins, ref/touch judge discussions etc. so there was always a period of 'injury time' after the hooter - usually about 3-5 minutes
Typical Aussie wanker @scoobajunky. What utter garbage " alatini's pass to irimea around 7.40 has travelled half a foot forward " give me a break. How come the ref didn't rule it forward. Most of you aussies are all the same you don't like to be beaten and we you are you come up with a load of bullshit to justify your loss. Lets fact it you were beaten by a better team on the day .. and on your home ground. By the way Dan Carter is the best flyhalf .. and Deans is a NZ coach ..
hahah wow you took the bait like a champ! i even inserted a 'smiley' with tongue poking out to indicate that i was TRYING to bait you, and you still took it. legendary.
not the use of (uninjured) next to 'flyhalf' - that's a nod to dan carter. though in my opinion there's not much between them.
and deans is the wallabies coach mate get used to it!!
great game, i was very lucky at age 15 to be out at stadium australia (or anz stadium as it is now known) and engage with that insane atmosphere to watch the greatest game of rugby ever.
it's only watching these highlights now that i realise we were robbed. alatini's pass to irimea around 7.40 has travelled half a foot forward at the very least :p
2009 - the year of the wallaby! watch out. burgess finally hitting his straps, giteau the best (uninjured) flyhalf in the world, and robbie deans...
I can remember this game so well, the first 5 minutes of rugby is the best you will ever see. Australia to their credit came back well and looked as if they were going to win it, however Jonah had other ideas and put the icing on the cake to score near the end of the game. One of the most amazing All Black wins ever.
you watch the wallabies turn into a team like that again with one of the best coaches in the world australia is gonna build depth then watch out. Bring back eales frickin legend.
man i remember that game. just to watch it now makes me proud. thats a real mans game. imagine the pressure and adrenalin pumping through their vains. superhuman beings and a role model (both teams) to all, i reckon...
Why doesn't Larkham kick the ball out at the end of the game?

Watched the end of this game in an Irish bar in central Christchurch.
When Jonah scored I picked up my girlfriend and spun her around the room.
She was english and didn't like rugby, but she was happy that I was happy and wanted to share it with her.
Still, she couldn't understand why I wanted to sit down the next day and watch the full replay when "you already know what happens".
Sigh, women...

@greyjdog not all women, I could replay a good try over and over and over....
