The word "Retard" is short for the word "retardation". If you look up that word it will state "slowness,limitation in intellectual understanding and awareness, emotional development, academic progress" What people DONT realize is "Retarded" as well as "slow" comes off as offensive to many people with "mental disabilities" as well as their families.These words were not always bad,until people started using them out of term.Just like the word bitch wasn't always a curse word...get it?
