Paris Bennett Sings National Anthem at Twins Home Opener

I think she did a GREAT job: she sang the song straight through (a touch fast, though...) without holding the notes forever, or inserting a million and one runs (I HATE when artists do that!), and really allowed the purity of her TRUE voice to shine through.

This is one of the BEST renditions of the National Anthem I've heard in a LOOOOOONG time.

The only problem is that she was rushing a bit too much. Her vocals were nice and strong. Yes, just a little tiny bit pitchy, but, she maintained her strength and control. Overall pretty good, but, she could have used a better vocal arrangement with her great voice.

Little pitchy dog, a little pitchy. Yes, she can sing.. but there were moments of just plain terrible phrasing here. Its a very hard song to sing and not cut out for everyone. Prime example here.

Wow, that last fifteen seconds was actually worse than the hair.

The long held note on "wave" was certainly a poor choice and then that attempt at an octave jump mid-note on "free", which I hate on principle. Finally, she botched the lyrics and turned the last line into a rhetorical question. "Can the home of the brave?"
