  • BRILLIANT! Cheers.....love the fish heads!

  • Is Shakespear or Bust on youtube? i remember the scene in Gas St Basen its changed a lot now but what a classic i would love to see it again

  • Hi

Its not on Youtube as far as I know, but you can buy it from cult and rare dvd dot com. Not great quality, but they do have a copy.

    Good luck

  • Thank You for this the Play for Today's were really good, Do you know where i can get a copy of this, and a play called 3 for the Fancy also with Art, Ebe, & Urm

    Again Thank you

  • You're welcome! You can try cultandrare dvds.com, I think they have the play set in Stratford, where the three go on a canal trip, but its not great quality. The other one, I've been told, is about a small pets show, and I can't find that any where. I would do you a copy of the Fishing Party, but I don't have the equipment, unfortunately. I will leave it up on Youtube, so should always be there, unless they decide to crack down on copyright at some point!

  • Brilliant Brilliant ,,,,,,,

  • Thanks for uploading this. I love watching old TV plays. This one was really enjoyable.

  • You're welcome - glad you enjoyed it.

  • Superb! A classic. Brian Glover was a genius.

  • I thought it was him thanks dude !

  • great stuff I think they did a couple of similar plays one about small mammal show in doncaster and one based on a canal boat with same cast

  • A small mammal show in Doncaster! - how fantastic - what I would give to see that!

  • I have managed to get hold of a copy of Shakespeare or Bust. The same 3 characters take a trip to Stratford Upon Avon on an old canal boat. It's well worth a watch, with some similar laughs to The Fishing Party,. Would love to see the 3rd play - Three for the Fancy about a small mammal show in Doncaster!!

  • Are you going to upload it to youtube?

  • I've never uploaded anything before - is it easy to do?

  • Brilliant stuff cryingonion. Where on eath did you get this from. I've been trying to find this for years! The BBC should release this and other Play for Today gems. Any chance of uploading Three for the Fancy?

  • Hi! I don't have any other plays for today, unfortunately. I taped this one in the early 90s when a load were repeated on BBC2, and the Fishing Party was my favourite. I know the BBC should release them on DVD. If I knew how, I would start a facebook campaign! There are apparantly 2 other plays featuring the 3 fishermen - (see previous comments). I didn't know about this until I uploaded this to youtube. Would love to see them.

  • Was one of the fisherman from porridge ?

  • You're welcome!

Don't know about porridge - was never a big fan, but you could cheeck on IMDB website.

  • @jsilence418 brian glover was in porridge and the likely lads .great play this

  • This was really great thanks !

  • What a great little play...many thanks for taking the time to upload these. The BBC really ought to put these on release..or show them now and again...they could easily tuck them away on bbc3 or something.

  • You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed. I think when I get time I will email the BBC about this!

  • Terrific I just watched all the parts thank you very much

  • You're welcome - I hope people continue to find this and enjoy it.

  • Upon finding this gem, I had to say, what a treat this looked for Brian Glover fans. An actor that rightfully earns his legendary status on the British screen. And after watching The Fishing Party, I have to say, what a treat for fans of quality writing. The BBC where way ahead of their game... Once upon a time. Thank you so much for posting this shamefully buried treasure!

  • Thanks very much for uploading this gem.

  • Your welcome. I'm glad its there for the world to see now!

  • Still, there's a few uploaded here... if they put 'em on DVD I'll buy 'em!

  • Thanks! They were great!

  • Heyyy! It's all here, nice one pal! Err... got any more?!

  • 'fraid not. Apparantly there's two more plays with the same 3 men - I've never seen them. We need to all email the BBC and ask them to release them on DVD!
