  • But this is a baby one!!!

  • 2 gaffs for such a pup: ridicolous

  • There's this new show on discovery channel, swords: life on the line

On a typical day they haul in tens of swordfish and they do that with many boats... catching several thousand a season. Nobody has a clue how many there are exactly and they reproduce so slowly. Swordfish take years to grow to full size so keeping longliners out is the most important protective measure

  • I hear what your saying, I just caught a few Yellowfin Tuna myself last week.

As long as the sword biomass can be sustained and hopefully increased, I think most will generally support the rec limits. If you can keep the longliners out of your area, you'll probably see a nice sword recovery.

  • What a bunch of idiots

  • Man that sword was just a pup. Would have liked to see a release on that one...

  • You have to understand that recreational limits on swordfish harvest are, in fact, protecting these species off our coast. Killing any fish might seem cruel to many people, but the fact of the matter is that it is OK to kill swordfish as long as you stay within the strict regulations that we impose.

  • @redlaw3sailfish i'm waiting for the day when all animals has the upper hand and they says Its OK to kill humans as long as they stay within the strict regulations that they impose... that will be nice =D

  • @redlaw3sailfish But this its a baby one!!!

  • @TubeBoobforyou

Right but he so called "sport fishermen" always worry about catch size limit when talking about comm fishermen.
