arghh it´s such a shame to see these beautiful models so deformed and disfigured and there´s nothing one can do against it! I have three promos, a ´59 Bonneville, a ´59 Olds Ninety-Eight and a ´58 Ninety-eight. luckily they are not mutch deformed... I´ll post a video when I´ve restored them
@DaBoogie049 Well the Plymouth is really in pretty good condition, but I felt lucky just to get the Chevrolet. I know exactly what you're talking about on the Olds 98--they get that "grin" in front, also the Pontiacs. I have a '60 Pontiac that is sway-backed. I do have a '59 Olds 98 flat-roof that I built when new and those models don't seem to deform like the promos do. Also '60 Cad and '59 Imperial convertible which are still good 50 plus years on--in better condition than me really.
@ronsmodelmart Thanks! I still remember a dealer at the Big D Bazaar in Dallas back in the mid-80's that one day had a display of about 25 original AMT unbuilt models still in their boxes that I could have had for $9 a piece--I bought a '60 Buick and I think a '59 Pontiac for a friend for Christmas and left the rest. Of course, the boxes had been opened so you couldn't be sure they were complete. I still kick myself for not buying a Renwall Visible V-8 for $10 at a closing hobby shop in 1986.
dno maybe

@VictrolaJazz the good thing is that the kits are made of a different plastic :)

@DaBoogie049 Is it the same plastic they began using for all the promos in 1961 that doesn't deform?
