  • I can't tell is that a kicker return or a Pbl. If you don't know the difference the pbl styles have what looks like a small spinning rachet wheel on the machine on your left from the back view. Kickers have a small rubber wheel that kicks the ball under the lift and when they or the ball gets to much oil, guess what? No ball return. One rubber wheel per lane.

  • THESE ARE KICKER RETURNS.

  • Don't you hate those kickers or are you one of the few rare lucky houses that has few problems with them? We pulled our kickers at the start of the season on a 6 lane house for the mini pbl set up and went from maybe 5 to 9 ball kicker related calls a night to not one ball call all season and we have leagues 6 nights a week and open bowling on the other night. They are a little expensive at the outset but well worth the trouble they eliminate. Plus near 0 maintence.

  • somewhat yes, they reguire regular maint. and changing kicker belts, is a bitch.

  • Plus what is worse is you'll get it to send back 15 or 16 pound balls but then it won't send back 6 or 8 pound balls. Seems like you can never get the right combo of kicker design and spring pressure to accomadate every ball. The nice thing about the mini pbl is that it eliminates all of that just drop in make adjustments and forget about it, just change the ball wiper cloth and maybe clean the lift belt once a month with some acetone. I've gotten lazy, I haven't cleaned them in 3 months.
