I did this because that morning the mold smell was so strong that it was almost overpowering and I felt that it was truly a health risk. It was a very prominent and ominous smell.

When I returned home that night there was NO SMELL AT ALL. I was amazed cuz I didnt really expect that SOUND would do that. To this day, over a month later there is still no mold smell.

It seems like the sonic vibration got faster and faster and the waveform got smaller and smaller, breaking the mold.

There are two things to prevent mold growth.

One, do not live in a flood plain. (whoever in the local area that approved building permits there should be shot)

Two, keep all of your wet area surfaces clean.

I bought a powerful ozone generator to clear out the mold in my log house. Works great. It gets into all the unseen places.

@chatsworth777 Ozone is an irritant and can cause lung problems. The jury is still out. Physical removal of the mold with great caution is the only proven way to eliminate mold from a building. The building materials often need to be removed once contaminated with mold or mycotoxins. Hope that helps!

@raproducer Thanks for the info. The mold was on the logs. I can't very well remove them. I turn the ozone up high and leave for a week. This machine puts out enough ozone for it to be far more than a mild irritant. I wouldn't dream of entering the house while it was on. Thanks.

I've had great results using sodium bicarbonate ( baking soda.) I've used it in: the bathtub where there was growth of some mold; rug cleaner to kill molds and mildew in my rugs; on a dogs urinal spot to kill the smell; in a bucket of water when cleaning house dust laden with mold spores; in kitchen sink to clean dishes. Sodium bicarbonate kills mold dead!

It really makes me wonder if colloidal silver would work for this type of mold, since recent studies show that it works better than the most powerful prescription anti-fungal drugs on common fungal pathogens.

Colloidal silver is very easy to spray, or even aerosolize if necessary. It would be easy to use it to treat mold.

Buy an Aranizer, It creates O3-O8 Oxygen. Kills mold, viruses, fungi, and cleans air in general. I have one and it works great to distroy air bourne spores. Use Bleach on visible mold. Black mold is deadly and once removed alot of illness goes away that might be diagnosed as something else that the illness isn't. Google " Aranizer " these are effective ozone machines and creates heavy air oxygen. Plant Physiology such as molds are distroyed by heavy oxygen ( OZONE).

we should also be talking about the chemicals in ALL new construction materials. formaldehyde and benzene are both cancer causing, will cause all kinds of lung conditions. new carpet is HIGHLY toxic, so are the chemicals that are used to clean carpet. even the venting of your dishwasher will cause lung issues as many of the detergents used in dishwahsres contain toxic chemicals.

I know many people with new homes that have kids with asthma, yet there is no history of this in their families.

No one has ever suffered from any mold unless they've had some kind of pre-existing condition, or they've ingested large quantities (as happened during the only documented case of death from mold, in the Ukraine during the famines of the 1930's)

Yes, 1% of research has been funded at 100 million dollars+ to try to slow down mold claims, but then again, big tobacco is correct when they claim there has been NO PROOF that tobacco causes cancer. @gennusa1 There are thousand of mold and fungi species. Just as not all anti-bacterial meds work on all bacteria, not all antifungals work on all fungal infections.
