  • yeah it wouldn't be good for a belt...have made longer keepers with it. the slatts style is one that would take a long time to make...make bracelets with that style but to make them nice it takes a while...I would suggest the style that tiat has on his youtube

  • @leifo5343, this sinnet probably isn't great for a belt, but search for "Slatt's Rescue Belt". Similar concept, but in belt form. Can be unravelled fast and made in whatever width you like.

  • yes there is; just finished making one in fact. start by going around the buckle a couple of times in the slot and then start the weave out; when you get to the end finish the same way and slide the two ends through the other part of the buckle and back toward the stitching and make two cobra weaves and melt off. there are some here that show the cobra stitch and on youtube

  • Is there a way to modify this to add a side release buckle or a shackle to make it more secure than just the lanyard knot?

  • if i needed something to make an animal snare i have a 100 ft. of mule tape

mule tape is a 3/4 in flat nylon type cord this means it is less likely to roll of like a round cord could

i have some in a e-pak with a lot of other stuff

  • the tighter you make the shorter the line will be

then the looser it is the longer it will be

BUT i dont think it would be more then 6 inches

  • @torgy the core in the bracelets have 6 or 7 strands and the bracelet at a minimum is 4-5' so you have quite a bit for snare wire and it needs to be small enough not to attract much attention. Have used it before on snares and is very strong. Not a good snare maker but it works. Don't know on the mule tape...sounds like it would attract too much attention but haven't seen it before.

  • I just made one. Quick and easy. You also, in my opinion have the best lanyard knot instructions on youtube. Thank you for the upload.

  • thank you for uploading this video it help me out

  • It uses 550 paracord.

  • Loved it! Wished you were my grandpa ^^.

BTW: I probably just missed it, but what kinda line did you use. It looks like a shoe lace...

  • Very cool!

  • Do you believe that this style of bracelet would work as a belt? More cord could be carried. I'd have to figure out a clasp or locking mechanism due to the fact that the knot wouldn't hold through everyday wear.

  • @leifo5343 yes it could but would be pretty narrow.

  • @leifo5343 When making a hemp bracelet you use the slide loop clasp for the ease of taking the bracelet on and off. You can find a how to vid of it here on youtube. It uses the cobra stitch, but with some thinking i bet there is a way to make it work. good luck : )

  • @leifo5343 I just found out you could double it!! =D This guy made it doubled with black and green and is a bit bigger. You could also have two nice long cords at the same time!

But I tried it a bit with my extra cord and you may need more than you had first estamated compared with the one cord.

  • Thanks a bunch for uploading this. I love making survival bracelets but the only thing i didnt like is that none seem to be able to be taken apart for instant use. Love this bracelet.

  • @gndmpnk yeah, I think that is a big advantage in this one...only problem you don't use as much cord in one as the cobra weave say.

  • Great video help! Thank you!

  • good deal; I had trouble with the lanyard knot too until I saw it this way done

  • Comment removed

  • Great video, like the part with the lanyard knot, cos had some problem making it before. Your doing it slow and on a easy way to see how to. Thanks!

  • nice vid. i like this style much more because of the speed of unraveling it versus the cobra knot. those take for ever to get apart.

  • AWSOME!Greath teacher sir!!

  • Great vid!

  • good point...I was trying to position the whole thing so that wouldn't matter but with cord it will some.

  • When you film you should look at what the camera is filming and not look at your hands so we see what you see
