I think key is to keep guild together and boot everyone who disagree with how things run, the faster the better. Best way to deal with the situation that cant be undone(back in days GMs ignored loot problems) was to ask her apology and help her make weapon (it takes all guild effort to get mats for it anyways).
First person with Thunderfury on our server was hunter, she got one of parts before anyone knew what it is, but her guild was cool and they helped her get second part and make it :-)
