yeh its a different type of fitness though. Thats why there are different round times and less rounds. Throwing and take downs and groundwork is like hardcore cardio with weights attached to your arms and legs lol. ALOT harder than just throwing your hands. Also because there are only 3 rounds in standard ufc and most mma fights there is more room for action rather thn watching boxers just slowly wilt over 12 or 15 rounds lol

BJ Penn is a WORLD CLASS GRAPPLER, and the best boxer in MMA he redibjulous in terms of martial arts prowess......hes the PRODIGY.....and there are plenty of MMA fighters who could compete in K-1...in fact many of them DO fight in K-1(CC, Hunt, Overeem etc.) and others have K-1 level standup...Fedor(Ernesto says he loves fedors striking and thinks he would do very well in k-1)..Mousasi..Anderson....all these guys could compete and do ok in K-1 and beat fighters.....they would not be world champs

I don't think so. A boxer will isolate and work only on the jab to make it better. A thai boxer will only do clinch work to make it better. A wrester will isolate sprawling,etc. Isolating disciplines works on the same principle. All the champs do it, but of course they blend it in sparring and spend time on training how to blend the ranges and styles.
