p.s.I happen to like Artisana raw coconut oil. just to let people know, Nutiva's coconut oil is not actually raw, and they at least had the integrity to admit they discovered their product is not actually raw.
Most would agree that the brain is 60% fat, but most would disagree with EFA's all the way. The brian is mostly saturated fat and EFA's are not. EFAs in excess or taken into a body that is "stressed" will actually create inflammation, supress the thyroid, cause cortisol, adrenaline, insulin, estrogren and prolactiin to be released, etc. So be careful with EFA's as in most people they do harm or people over take them which creates harm.
TOTALLY out in left field but I remember you talking a little bit about it before, any way you can talk a little more about emotional suppression, effects and recommendations?!?
Check out info about chlorine being the main cause of heart disease. Chlorine ( a halide ) sticks to the artery walls, and white blood cells go to attack/remove it. The chlorine being stuck causes the cells to get stuck to it, and then they remove excess calcium+fat from the blood, causing a build up. This build up is the plaque they call cholesterol, and causes the heart disease.
Simple chlorinated tap water is the killer of the 20th and now 21st century. Causes all the cancers also.
There are many things that do, not just chlorine. So does xanthene oxidase that is in past milk...it is produced through the homogenization process. So does bowel toxemia, adrenal issues, etc...it is all person specific!
No argument from me that coconut is an incredible food but even the saturated fats in, say, organic grass-fed beef can still not be demonstrated to be harmful. Studies indicate that it will raise total cholesterol more than any other fat or macronutrient, but it will be raising HDL and pattern B LDL while decreasing pattern A LDL, thus reducing the risk for heart disease. So while coconut is clearly the better saturated fat, it's not as if the long-chain saturated fats are anything bad.
@vooooom I think you mean raising pattern A LDL. Isn't pattern A the big fluffy one thats ok and pattern B are the little guys that can get under the artery walls?
Ooer, good catch! Thank you for keeping me from making that mistake again. yes saturated fat raises pattern a which is larger and very difficult to oxidize.
i agree. doctors are ignorant as hell. they are death dealers. if the new health bill is passed and 1/4 doctors quit, then it'll be good for society. less deaths.
Just read an article that Lipitor is now the world's top selling drug. No surprise there considering all the bullshit marketing they put into it.
