@Darkking271 First, people would be intrigued, then, after a few misunderstandings (read: cultural differences, higher technology base, etc.), would come mistrust and a few cases of fear, then more fear, paranoia joines in, and in the end we would either follow the film's approach, or we would just 'Nuke the fuckers of the map', and start an all out war. but in my opinion, it would only work if they make the story following any character that isnt Freeman, for two reasons

1- Freeman has no character (it's hard to explain, but yeah, he pretty much has no character)

2- Fans would flick the shit and the whole canon of the games would fly to fuck if they make Freeman talk (think about it, the fact that he doesnt talk is a side effect of a story device) =P

@anosunod: FYI:They’re called ‘Prawns’ in the original English version. They’re called ‘Shrimps’ (a biologically almost identical species) only in the German dubbed version, as far as I know.
