  • triple kil !!!

  • Chris Neil is a dirty player to begin with, it makes no sense to me that he got off scott free while MacArthur gets 3 games for a very different hit. I do not like the direction this game is going under Shanahan and Bettman!

  • @EffortlessCool2 Grabovski shoulda got the fuck out of the way, if ur skating in a direction u dont have to avoid every player whose path u cross

  • @marselluswallace6 I disagree outright. Grabovski's responsibility is to follow the breakout and get open to accept a pass. He didn't have the puck, nor was he anywhere near the puck. Neil saw him coming and for some reason thought it was the right move to interfere and shoulder Grabo in the head. Interference is interference, that's what should have been called.

  • @EffortlessCool2 Well its also not neils responsibility to move out of the way, players skating around have the risk of colliding all the time away from the puck, neil just happened to brace for the impact and grabovski didnt

  • @marselluswallace6 Yea brace for impact is a way of sugar-coating it. Neil knew exactly what he was doing in this situation. Had he not raised his shoulder there wouldn't have been a collision to begin with.

  • people are stupid. you can clearly see neil stick out his shoulder right as grabo was about to pass by him.

  • @TheDrummer1994 you can definetly see a change in body language but it wasn't agressive, he saw the player coming at him and braced himself for the hit.

  • neil just wants to lose more teeth from rosehills fists thats all

  • sens are a joke

  • lmao Grabo is a retard. Technically he ran into Neil. Neil wasn't even skating.

  • That's what you get for taking 7 strides and not looking ahead once.

  • @jonwu You don't need to when you haven't even touched the puck, nor is it anywhere near you. You're not allowed to just step into other players at will, this hit was illegal.

  • @89Czeko leave the leafs alone!

  • Looks like bad timing to me. If only this had happened last year, now Chris Neil might get suspended! - John (Pardon My Sports)

  • grabovski shouldn't have been admiring the puck movement by his own defencemen, its just gettin ridiculous now for people demanding suspensions. YOU CAN'T SKATE AROUND WITH UR HEAD UP ASS, REMEMBER THE OLD SAYING??? KEEP YOUR HEAD UP AND YOUR STICK ON THE ICE

  • Both teams are Grease

  • chris neil = coward.

  • chris neil needs to go back to picking on 18 year olds on the ice ....

  • Leafs suck anyway

  • @kahlilANDproductions im a leaf fan but......true say

  • Leafs trash

  • @NJDevils dude what team you play for? Right now Im still young but i play for burnaby bantam first year rep AAA

  • @Epicbeans999 i play for the devils

  • think this was a controversial play....otherwise there would not be so much attention paid to it.....it would be interesting if Shanahan could also make videos on controversial plays giving an explanation as to why he decided not to suspend the player(s) in question.....that would be cool....

  • your an idiot westcoastjiujitsu i play hockey for a living and if you think this is bracing yourself then you know nothing about hockey, sorry

  • The second angle from across the ice says it all... Clearly braced and leaned towards Grabo.

Thankfully he's alright, would have been shitty to start the season without him.

Oh and thanks to Montreal for trading a 30 goal scorer for peanuts and a bag of pucks.

  • Chris Neil is a pussy cheapshot artist. Been shown time and again. Worse, he's a turtle. Even his former teammates have said that he instigates and provokes, but bails when someone calls him out for a scrap. Then they had to step up and fight his battles for him. Anyone saying Grabo should have seen it coming or should have been paying attention is a moron who doesn't know a thing about the game. When you don't have the puck, there's no reason to expect a 'hit' like that.

  • all those people saying yah thats why the leafs suck. WHO WON THAT GAME AGAIN? yah. GO LEAFS GO

  • @Mtaxx1234 WHOO PRESEASON!

  • On the Team 1200 this morning they were talking like how Neil gets a pass as a player since he's never been suspended. What a bunch of fucking cock smokers.

So if i got rob a bunch of banks but don't get caught ever, its okay. What BS.

Watch Neil's right leg. He even slowed up a bit so he could time it right.

  • Neil's such a douche. He clearly saw Grabovski coming and decided to take a cheap shot. Neil even prepared for the hit as you see in the slow motion

  • cheap shot my ass pay attention grabovski. he put his shoulder up to brace himself not to hit anyone who has ever played any hockey knows this

  • @westcoastjiujitsu yeah you fucking retard, he is bracing himself from a player that doesnt even see him... your such a dumbass.

  • @Thec00n218 I was working at that game :D

  • TROLOLOL LOLOL LOLOL...... TROLOLOLOL LOLOLOLOL

  • So what does that have to do with the video? The video doesn't lie, it's a cheap shot. It doesn't matter how much you like Chris Neil. And I hate the leafs so I don't know why you thought bad-mouthing Armstrong would somehow prove your point.

Anyways, thanks for proving my point on how your sens fan. Upon review of your second post I'm assuming you're a child as well?

You should google the word "biased". You might learn something about yourself.

  • Well Neil didn't get suspended and Shanahan has been handing out suspensions like candy this pre-season. If it was even a marginally bad hit he would have been suspended. Change the colors of the jerseys around and you would be having a the opposite conversation with someone else.

Yes I'm not a Leaf fan but I doesn't mean I'm wrong and the lack of suspension actually makes me right. :)

  • @zombeaudin

I don't base my opinion off of what Brendan Shanahan says, so that point to me makes no sense. Who gives a shit if Shanahan thought this wasn't suspension worthy. The whole "But brendan said it so it must be true" is a cop out. I'm an an objective hockey fan and I can acknowledge an illegal hit for my team OR against it.

Also, no one is right or wrong, these are all opinions. Sure, your argument is supported with Shanahan's opinion but I really don't care. I stand by what I said.

  • disgusting leafs homer anouncers

  • Lots of Leaf fans here. Look at Neil head you twits he never faced Grabhovski, he was looking at the puck the whole time. It was a collision get over it.

  • Comment removed

  • @sundog60 I hate the LEafs but I Totally disagree with you. That was intended. Suspension coming...

  • Shana has been on a tear so I think Neil will get suspended but he shouldn't. The only thing this hit is is interference and you shouldn't get suspended for a missed called by the refs. There was no head contact and Grabovski was going to try and cut around Neil so he must have know he was there. Also who is the other Leaf skating towards Neil. From Neil's point of view there are two leafs skating towards him.

Neil actually gets hit twice so maybe he is the victim.

  • @zombeaudin neil is the victim eh? sounds like someone is a sens fan...

  • Neil has never been suspended, never back down from a fight, he can take a punch and dish them out and always plays hard. His major fault is that he will at times take bad penalties, he also has been know to fight teammates during practice (that is both good and bad). Now Colby Armstrong on the other hand, is a weasel that always backs down from a fight is know for hitting players in the numbers and has been suspended for a head shot and should have been for a few others questionable hits.

  • @zombeaudin

Lmao, why would you bring Colby Armstrong into this? This isn't a Leafs vs Sens debate, this is a video about CHRIS NEIL'S HIT. Lol, what are you even talking about?

  • @zombeaudin

Also, I'd like to point out that "History Will Be Made '67" is the first video that comes up when I go to your page. You couldn't be more biased, so why would your opinion be taken seriously in an objective hockey discussion?

  • @zombeaudin Neil has never backed down from a fight? HAHAHAHA Watch hockey much? All he does is fight with teenagers who are not goons. He is one of the biggest cheapshot artists in the NHL per THE PLAYERS. I could give a fuck what you or Shanahan think.

  • How does it look like Grabovski skates into Neil? You can't possibly think that. Analyze the tape from 2 seconds to 4 seconds (when the hit is made). Neil's path completely changes and he turns his skates to stand his ground when Grabovski "skates into him". Once again, this is called a "blind-side hit" and is illegal.

This is why idiots like this should be suspended. Throw the book at this dummy. People don't pay to see Neil, they pay to see skilled players like Grabovski. Neil's a goon.

  • looks to me like the Grabby skated into Neil not the other way around.

  • It looks more like he is trying to avoid collision with whoever the other guy is, and in doing so, he hits Grabovsky (who he wasn't even looking at for crying out loud) and then hit the other guy anyways...

  • you're dreamin Dretube 9 ..tell it to a jusge, Shanny will have the last word

Neil is a repeat offender , Grabo is half his weight , and not a tough guy

Yes 10 % guilt on Grabo's side, but come onnn ....

  • "neil stepped into grabovsky"??

yeah, you could also say that grabovsky skated right into neil while looking off into space.

chris neil was barely moving and peripherally sees a player skating towards him at a good clip. how is he supposed to know this player isn't taking a run at him?? is he just supposed to get slammed?

grabo should be suspended for not paying attention.

  • @DRETUBE9

Dude, this is EXACTLY what they are trying to crack down on. It's called a "blind-side hit", and regardless of whether Grabovski is looking or not (he isn't, but it's irrelevant) it is still an illegal hit because Neil can clearly see him coming and Grabovski isn't looking.

Why would you give a guy like Chris Neil the benefit of the doubt anyways? You can see his skates swivel to face Grabovski's direction, so don't think for a second Neil didn't know exactly where he was on the ice.

  • @MrPaulCrupi agreed 100%, we've seen so far that the league is going to discipline any player who takes advantage of a player in a defenseless situation, and that is exactly what neil did here.

  • @MrPaulCrupi

no suspension. shanahan (the man who is fixing the nhl) says it was not a suspendable hit. good enough for you?

  • @DRETUBE9

Shanahan's opinion means nothing to me. If he doesn't want to suspend Neil, I think that's a mistake. My opinion hasn't changed on the hit. Neil sold it very well, that's for sure.

  • @DRETUBE9 No doubt that Neil's skates swivel to hit Grabovsky. If you can't see that then I understand why you don't understand

  • Comment removed

  • You see this hundreds of times and wonder just what either of them are thinking. Neil for doing it knowing Grabovski hasn't got the puck, and not taking a two minute holding call instead, and Grabovski for not keeping his head on a swivel knowing he's catching his opponent flat footed and likely will respond to the threat he poses. Similar shots of yore? Doug Gilmour in playoffs ("Keep your head up! - Cherry), and Bobby Orr in the playoffs taken out on the boards at the Garden.
