  • The big red "G" is iconic, and 21st century friendly. Global still to this day has no reason to drop it. That "Greater than" logo has to go. no excuses.

  • @streetcarjay No, it has a black background, which is why many of the old logo's are scary.

  • @iSquishy89 Scary? This isn't scary. The Ontario Educational Communications Authority logo from 1970 with with spooly sound effects is scary.

  • Thanks for this and all the other historical TV achives!

I remember watching this in 1977 when my family stopped for the night at a Howard Johnsons...I still recall looking at the channel lineup glued to the set which showed the station coming from Paris. (Aware that Canadians spoke French, I didn't understand why it was in English.)

Ironic: the Howard Johnson's was in London, Ontario -- it had not crossed my mind that there also might be a Paris, Ontario.

  • Global used to be jokingly referred to in its early days as the Love Boat channel as they showed that program mutliple times a day, including a couple of times in prime time. This bumper pretty much sums up that channel perfectly from that era!!

  • @mickeytor I used to wath it every night at 10 pm, on my little black and white TV

  • wow the year i was born O_O
